Caps Installed on Aimpoint ACO/ M68
Got these covers for my Aimpoint ACO. The ACO model doesn’t include caps so this is a required purchase if you want caps for your red dot Overall construction is quality. The caps are spring loaded and snap into the body of the scope securely…when installed and with the caps up it provides a very decent seal for the optical glass of the RDS A few takeaways though. The caps fit VERY snugly on the red dot… almost to the point where it seems like you can’t get them on. The rear cap goes on easier than the front but still requires some firm almost hard presses to get it over the lip on the rear of the RDS once it’s over the lip it slides into a groove and clicks into place. To remove just press firmly on the opposite side of the spring hinge The front cover however is a absolute beast to get on the RDS…it fits very snugly and required a lot of harsh pressure to the point where I was almost concerned that I was putting too much force into my scope/mount… when its on it’s not coming off or even spinning. I tried to press on the rear of the front cap spring hinge and it’s rock solid. I tried to spin the front cap to line it up better with the rear and it doesn’t budge. I stopped when I thought I was being too forceful so my caps will now stay slightly misaligned For the install I did what others suggested. Used a blow dryer until the rubber was warm and had some give. And even with the rubber warm it was still a small pain to get the cap on.. but finally after about 2 min of pressing with the warm cap it slipped on and I popped it into place Another note is once these things are on they are ON…so make sure you get them lined up and where you want them from the start. They don’t spin at all when installed. So if having mildly off center scope caps ticks your OCD your gonna have to pull the caps and install them again.. I tried to spin my rear cap over also since it was about 95% of the way lined up..and the thing didn’t budge and once again I overthought that I was being too rough with my Aimpoint so off center they will stay.. I left the Aimpoint on my rifle while putting the caps on My ACO is mounted in a ADM M68 mount so I had enough clearance to slap them on without having to take the RDS off….idk if that will help you while your struggling but having the RDS clamped on the rifle will free up both your hands to press the caps on.. just take your time and be firm. No need to power press this thing on.

Get the covers from the guys who make the optic and live a happy life.
They are Aimpoint made. Sure there are other options, you could buy three or four Butler Creek caps for this price. And you'd need them all since they break when you breath on them. Unlike this seemingly rock solid, bullet proof Aimpoint lens cap. Made by the guys who make the optic. It fits with no issue, closes and stays closed. It fits onto the ridge on the optic body to stay in place. There are other options, but there aren't better ones. This is the example of buy once and cry once.

Perfect fit for Aimpoint M4S
Wanting a better means of being able to protect the glass at either end of my Aimpoint M4S I decided to give the flip caps a try. After using the supplied bikini covers (pain to put on and not a quick removal type of cover) I wanted to have something that would give me a faster (and easier) means of making the scope available for use. This item will fit properly on the scope (even with the killflash on. The one thing to keep in mind (and this isn't a bad thing) is that the cover to have it fit needs to be heated up. Drop this puppy in hot water for 20 seconds (careful for those lacking sense - boiling water is hot - don't put your fingers in it to retrieve or splash it around the kitchen), using your favorite approved means of retrieving objects from hot liquid and gently slide/twist onto the end of your scope. Mischief managed problem solved. I would highly recommend this cover for your scope.

A 5 start flip-cap for a 5 Star Scope
I wanted an upgrade for my M4S because I wanted faster access to the scope’s purpose than what the bikini cover offered, and I have an advanced case of CRS which meant I was sure to lose it at some point in time. That being the case I chose the cover made by the same manufacturer as the scope because the scope is such a quality product; I wasn’t disappointed. I have read where some folks have problems putting the flip-cap on and wanted to offer my 2 cents worth on the subject. The flip cap I got has two inner diameter tabs on on them which makes a tight fit even tighter. Looking at them it would seem that the tabs are meant to fit just past the scopes ARD (kill flash). There were also several suggestions of hot water immersion to make the flip cap more pliable. Heeding this advice, I ran mine under hot water in the sink for 20-30 seconds using a pair of metal salad tongs, with Household 6 approval of course. While the scope is water proof, I nevertheless dried the flip cap off, slipped it on the scope, performed a minute twist to align it the way I wanted it and voila. Yes, the inner tabs fit the way I thought they would. That’s my rant. A 5 start flip-cap for a 5 Star scope.

This cover seems impossible to install until you call Aimpoint and they make it easy.
This cover seems impossible to install until you call Aimpoint, and they make it easy. If you think this cover is going to slide right on, you're in for a big surprise. I called Aimpoint and talked to one of their Technical Representatives and he gave me 3 options. The first was set the cover on a solid surface. and use your body weight to push down on it to install. That didn't work for me, so I tried the second option and that was to heat up the cover with a hair dryer then push the sight down over the cover. That worked like a champ but still was tight. That's because these covers are made to Mil-Spec by the Swiss, and they stick to them.

Fits great! Looks Great!!
This is a BEAST to install. But it is NOT comming off. Some have said that you can't use this with the anti flash device(AFD). Others have said you can use it but have to take it off to remove. I however am able to not only use this with my AFD but i can easily unscrew it from my Comp4s with the cap over it. **NO ISSUES WITH REMOVING ANTI FLASH DEVICE WITH THIS INSTALLED**

Snug Fit, Feels like Quality
Fits well, this front cap was more difficult to install than the rear one of the same type and I read somewhere that heating this with a hairdryer made it slightly more workable and in my case I do believe it made a difference.
