Decking Tape 50mm x 15.2m, 6 Rolls Waterproof Deck Joist Tape

I’ve been through more types of decking tape than I care to admit, mainly because we live in an area with unpredictable weather and our outdoor wood structures take a real beating. The Hanotic Joist Tape has become my go-to solution — it’s practical, durable, and surprisingly easy to work with.I first tried it when we were renovating our deck last summer. Our previous decking tape had started to peel and let moisture in, causing a few small areas of rot that were a nightmare to fix. I laid it along all the joists before putting down the decking boards, and within minutes it was doing its job. Even on slightly damp wood, it adhered perfectly, which was a big relief.After a few months of sun, rain, and even a brief hailstorm, I checked underneath the decking — everything was dry and clean. No peeling, no water creeping through, and the wood remains in excellent condition. I’ve since used it for other outdoor woodwork projects as well, including a small roof overhang and a few RV repairs, and it’s been just as effective every time.The fact that it comes in six rolls of 5cm x 15.2m means I have enough to cover all the joists and beams I need, with a little left over for smaller projects. Have used it on top for the decking frame, is sticking well to the wood, it seems to be waterproof.Don't extend it as it will come back to its original length.

Good quality of the top layer, waterproof as described. Stickiness is decent, when surface is dry and clean, so make sure you do your prep before sticking. Also where possible, try to use when temperature are on the upper end of the scale, because the tape becomes somewhat more rigid and less sticky when temperature drops below 15C. 10/10 would buy again!

This tape is GREAT! A little trying to start on a new roll, but comes off the roll easily. No ripping or breaking once you get started. Very sticky, good thickness and easily covers a 2 X ____.

Let me start by saying I’m not a professional deck builder. However, in constructing my deck, I’ve used both a 4 inch wide joist tape sold at big box building supplies stores and this Hanotic joist tape; my preference is the Hanotic joist tape, it applies smooth and adheres to the joist extremely well. The big box tape applied wrinkled, doesn’t lay as flat and doesn’t seem to adhere as well. Beyond that, the Hanotic joist tape is more affordable. I have no reservations in using or recommending Hanotic joist tape.

Pretty simple joist tape that does what it’s supposed to do. It sticks well, is easy to cut and apply, and seems to provide good protection from moisture. The rolls are a good size, and having 6 of them is convenient for a larger project. Overall, happy with it.

Does it's job. Easy application, strong bond.

I have used this product on a few decks so far and love it! Provides great protection to top of joist and the ashes and “rubber” material adheres to the threads of the screws to provide a better seals vs the “old” way of wood on wood contact. My application on this project was for roof trusses on a pergola as the customer wanted a clear polycarbonate roof. It will provide extra protection against leaks down the road and it also helped keep the sheets from sliding down the pitch of the roof during install.The backing can be a bit frustrating to take off after being cut to length and has ripped if you get rushed when taking off. Slow pace is best. The adhesive is pretty strong and stays in place when applied. I have used other brands and it will peel off pretty easily. This one STAYS PUT!I highly recommend for its waterproofing/protection and adhesion when applied! I will definitely buy again!
