I’ve used other sound machines in the past with digitally created white noise, and needed another machine for the bedroom. Having heard about this device and how it was commonly used in therapists’ offices to protect patient privacy/cultivate a calm environment for patients, I thought I’d give this very simple sound machine a try. I’m extremely impressed with how well this product works and how much of a difference this machine—which uses a motor operated fan to make noise—seems to be more effective at drowning out ambient sound and crowd out the typical anxiety stream in my brain so I can get sleep. The device’s foot print is relatively small, and has a simple on off switch with a twist mechanism that manually adjusts the volume or frequency the fan motor creates. Because the on/off switch is hard wired, the Dohm Uno can be used with an Alexa or other WiFi enabled plug to make it truly hands free without needing to reset settings. I’m happy I got this!

Are you tired of your roommates waking up at 5am and running the blender, waking you from sleep in the most aggressive way possible? COMPLAIN NO MORE! I conducted a lot of research on this little sound machine and it is such a great purchase. I love that it's a real fan, because I'm not a fan of artificial white noise and the sound quality is great. It plugs in to the wall so no need for batteries, and it has a pretty discrete look (I purchased it in white). Noise blocking ranges from what i would call mild to sounding like you're standing next to the ocean and is great for casual road noise, your roommate in the shared bathroom, and even conversation. 10/10 wish I had purchased sooner!

I really like this white noise machine for my toddler’s bedroom. It’s a compact, small sized machine that puts out a consistent steady fan sound. It’s easy to control for a “louder” or “quieter” setting simply by twisting it. I’ve been using it every day for over a year now, so I would say it’s an amazing quality machine given the price point. Ever since my baby was a newborn, she was comforted by the sound of a fan, but obviously I can’t run a fan overnight in the winter season or during most of spring, plus it would make her allergies worse. So the Yogasleep Dohm Uno slowly lulls her to sleep with its soft, comforting and CONSISTENT whirring fan noise. The biggest gripe I have with similar white noise machines is that they are not consistent, the soundloop is obvious, and a recorded fan noise just isn’t the same as having the actual thing. Also, this thing is boring appearance wise. I love that it doesn’t have fancy lights or anything at all that grabs a curious toddler’s attention. She ignores it 100%. No complicated settings or switches means that grandma likes it too when baby goes to spend the night. It’s as simple as turn it on to use, turn it off in the morning. And finally, it has improved her quality of sleep in my opinion. She’s been great about sleeping through the night since about 9 months old. Of course I know how lucky I am — a white noise machine won’t solve sleep issues. But it can definitely help, and in my case I think even if/when she has nighttime wake-ups, she puts herself back to sleep and since I leave this on overnight it’s easy for her to drift back off into dreamland. If anything ever happens or my Yogasleep just gives out, I will be repurchasing. I frequently debate purchasing a second one anyway, to have on hand just in case. 5 stars, completely recommend especially for those who like the sound of a fan to fall asleep to. But; for people who are looking for something “loud” to drown out something like construction noise, I’d probably look elsewhere. On its highest setting, this thing is probably about as loud as a regular fan on a medium setting. It is great for drowning out regular household noise (conversation at a normal volume, TV on a mid volume, somebody knocking at the door, toilet flushing, etc).

I saw this at a hotel I stayed. I had the best sleep, so I decided to purchase price was good. I received the very next morning. The sound is like a fan it blocks out noise. It’s absolutely a must for us we love it some much we purchased for our kids and friends.

This is a great white noise machine. I use it to help me sleep or else my tinnitus drives me crazy. It probably uses more energy than those machines that play audio, however there's no seam. It's a tad loud to keep next to the bed, so it's on top of my dresser by the door. I love that it's white, which is important to me. The switch is easy to click and durable. It's easy to twist the top to change the tone a little. I haven't taken a spectrogram of the tone, but it is probably closer to brown noise or pink noise. I love that it is simple and that there aren't lots of unnecessary "bells and whistles." I think the upgraded version has more flexibility in terms of volume and ability to change tone, but because you usually set and forget, I chose the basic one. I'm frugal and I am overall quite pleased with my purchase; however I wonder if a small fan would be better for me because I do like a breeze on my face while sleeping.

Every white noise app I've ever tried has a loop and I will eventually hear it, and then I ONLY hear it. This is good, old-fashioned mechanical sound and does an excellent job.

User-friendly. Pre-recorded white noise on a loop would never put me to sleep, but this fan does the trick!

This noise machine is great, it is super easy to use: just plug it in and turn it on. The level of noise can be adjusted manually by twisting the top. I appreciate that the noise is purely mechanical, there's a small fan moving around inside the machine and that creates the white noise. I will say there was an annoying buzzing noise but that was resolved by placing the noise machine on a rubber mat on my nightstand.

Just as good as my old one. Bought this as a replacement for my 10+ year old Original version in which the fan was starting to rattle. I hope to enjoy this new one for many more years! It perfectly drowns out background noises and helps me to sleep soundly. I even travel with it and it's especially helpful in hotels!

THis is a simple white noise generator that uses a fan assembly inside. THis is a model that has been in production since 1962 and this company was the first to use this system. After buying and returning a Conair machine that uses looping I must say I am pleased with how this unit works. All it does is turn on and the fan starts turner internally and you adjust the noise generated by turning the top of the unit..simple and effective.... NO need for all the other digitized looping sounds that other machines produce along with extraneous noise.

Lo compramos 2 veces y uno funciono por 10 minutos y el otro por 1 mes. Contacte con el servicio a cliente porque realmente el tiempo que lo usamos nos encanto el producto y queríamos ver si había alguna alternativa. Muy amablemente nos explicaron que este producto NO FUNCIONA CON EL VOLTAJE EN MEXICO, y el motor se quema, así que hay que comprar el Dhom CLASSIC. Ellos me devolvieron mi dinero apesar de que ya había pasado mi periodo de gracia en amazon y pude comprar este nuevo modelo que es increible!

Lo compré el 8 de octubre y ya no funciona! Lo prendí anoche y hoy en la mañana ya no se escuchaba y ya no prende. Pésimo que dure solo 3 meses un producto tan caro. No recomiendo
