Great laptop
Things a beast, return my predator Helios neo 16 due to crashing issues, ignore the guys crying about thermal throttling, mine stays cool, and if it thermal throttles it takes all of about 10 minutes to repaste the cpu. Don’t buy a high end laptop if you don’t know what you’re doing

HP Omen max 16"
After owning the MSI vector 16 hx ai with 5080 and intel ultra 9 275x this has the same specs compared to other latest gaming laptops in the category. I wanted to buy the Asus ROG strix scar with the same specs but with 18" screen. The Asus just far too expensive and I don't think the quality any better. I used to own HP omen laptops before. I found it is light and portable with high hardware components. Personally paying for an rtx 5090 laptop just overkill and far too expensive unless it is available for a discount price. I managed to get the HP omen max 16 with the black Friday deals. The quality for gaming and content creators are great just needs the latest windows updates. With crucial memory upgrades even I installed 96 gb ram, so the memory and storage are upgradable. Highly recommend if you want a good gaming laptop without breaking the bank. Hope could serve me for a while. The cooling fans are great features too, keep it quiet and reducing high temperatures for overheating.

HP Omen Max 16 AVOID CONSTANT THERMAL THROTTLING AND CRASHES!
The HP Omen Max 16 is unfit to be called a "gaming laptop" sadly. After time setting it up and downloading latest updates and adding games I was immediately disappointed! You would think with an Intel Ultra 9 CPU and a RTX 5080 GPU this could run anything you throw at it right? My experience was sadly no that is not the case... I will explain why below. First of all I have experienced crazy drops down to as low as 8 to 10 FPS in games. I have attached a screenshot showing this in game on Days Gone as an example. The frame graph shows severe red spikes in stability and performance and this sadly is consistent even in games that are less demanding. Every game I tried it was thermal throttling, even Fortnite was thermal throttling as well and that isn't a demanding game especially not for the CPU and GPU in the HP Omen Max 16 which should run it without problem but it's a totally unstable mess with regular severe frame drops/performance spikes and again like in all the other games I have tried it's constant as soon as the game starts up... I have tried all graphics modes on this HP Omen Max 16, Eco/Balanced Performance and Unleashed and IT DOESN'T MATTER what setting you choose unbelievably it STILL constantly thermally throttles on every mode... So clearly it's unfit for purpose/faulty. Then it started to crash in game as well as the thermal throttling, attached a video showing Star Wars Jedi Survivor completely crashed and froze on Omen Max 16 screen. It couldn't be closed and the laptop had to be completely shut down/restarted, unfortunately this wasn't isolated and the laptop continually crashed during games! Extremely disappointed, just like the MSI Vector models this so called gaming laptop is a pile of trash and unfit to be sold in its current state. I searched online and it seems these issues are NOT isolated either which is totally unacceptable. Why are huge companies selling laptops that aren't fit for purpose!? And to makes matters even worse HP customer service were an absolute waste of time and didn't care because the laptop was bought from Amazon, so I have raised a return for this on the Amazon. And hopefully it is collected/returned and refunded promptly. HP have a cheek charging what they are for this terrible thermal throttling/crash fest of a laptop, like MSI what quality checks are actually carried out before these are boxed in factory and then sent out!? Got the feeling like with MSI now the answer is ZERO! My advice is AVOID the HP Omen Max 16 like the plague along with the MSI Vector models and would especially caution buying a laptop/gaming laptop with an Intel Ultra 7/9 CPU and RTX GPU'S as they are shockingly bad/unfit for purpose. It seems there are now well documented online big issues and problems with Gaming Laptops using Intel Ultra CPU's and NVIDIA RTX GPU's currently. This thing is totally useless and it's pretty shameful that HP are trying to sell this to the gaming community. I really think proper and stringent quality checks should be carried out on ALL laptops from all the manufacturers to make sure they are in full working order with no serious issues like thermal throttling and constant crashes! If I could give it ZERO stars I would but 1 is the lowest so it's ⭐1 Star from me and my advice to the gaming community/those interested in buying is stay well clear of these laptops as in current state are totally unfit for purpose. The amount of time I have wasted setting it up and adding games to find that it's just a mess of thermal throttling and crashes has been deeply frustrating...

Terrible battery and HP parts
Don’t buy this. The laptop has awful battery life, lost 20% on idle with nothing running in the background, the boot time is slow, the screen is disappointingly dim, the keyboard is good though. It’s disappointing to have such great CPU and GPU but let down by the bad quality parts that ruins the computer.
