Had to buy this book for school, but it was great and very helpful.

There is a lot of information, good information if you are planning a kitchen remodel. I decided to spend the money on this book because the cost of this book dwarfs the cost of the remodel so it makes sense to get as much information as possible before spending $$$ on the kitchen.

Exactly as advertised

This book contains the history of kitchens, as well as methods for calculating linear feet of storage space. It talks about landing areas and task areas but it did not answer the questions I was hoping for. I was looking for recommendations for standard shelf heights. For example, how much linear space to accommodate dishes, serving platters, etc. Suggested Pantry shelf heights. Interior cabinet details for storage. This was very much a plan based look at a kitchen layout. Even though it contains a thorough list of questions to ask your client regarding what they own and what they need to store, it does not include how to make sure you have enough space, or necessary clearances for that list.
