It felt like the product went bad before reaching my door. Smell and texture were bad.

Update to Original Review, below: When I first received this bottle of Avalon Organics Clarifying Lemon Conditioner, I opened the bottle to smell it and was amazed at the fresh lemon scent. Unfortunately that one brief sniff was the only hint that there was any lemon scent in the bottle. Literally 10 minutes after writing the review I used the conditioner. I am very familiar with the Avalon shampoo and conditioner line, I have been using their Lavender-scented shampoo and conditioner for about 7 years and have always been happy with it. I never used their CLARIFYING shampoo or conditioner, however I have used other brands of clarifying shampoos and conditioners. When I actually used this product it had absolutely no fragrance of lemon, even after vigorously shaking the bottle several times. I got a second opinion, and that person agreed with me that there was no lemon scent at all, just a waxy smell. The conditioner worked ok on my hair. Original Review, before actual use: "Product was exactly as promised. It arrived in a timely manner and has a fresh lemon scent, as I had hoped." It worked well as a conditioner but I purchased the Avalon product specifically because of the lemon fragrance, which it does not have. I plan to contact the seller and return the product.

I bought the shampoo from Waitrose - it soothed my scalp immediately and is nice and refreshing - didn't by the conditioner at the time as I wanted to see what the shampoo was like. Thought I would try the conditioner via Amazon. Conditioner is good too although I put too much on my hair. Smell is lovely - similar to Loccitane products. Will try the Lavender next.

I have long, fine hair that gets weighed down very quickly and is oilier than it is dry. This Avalon Organics clarifying conditioner is great for my hair type: it provides just enough moisture to my hair to stop it from tangling, without building up on my strands and weighing it down. The lemon scent of this conditioner is beautiful. It's got that light,crisp, bright citrusy lemon scent, with just a touch of sweetness (like a lemon dessert). I use the conditioner after shampooing and leave it in my hair for 2 or 3 minutes before rinsing, and the scent fills my bathroom. The conditioner rinses cleanly from my hair, and I love how light it leaves my hair once it's dry. This is a clarifying conditioner- it is NOT heavily moisturizing so if you have dry hair this isn't the product you're looking for! For oily hair, however, it's fabulous, as well as for limp hair that is prone to product buildup. I'm really pleased with this conditioner, it works really well for my hair and I will buy it again.
