Has a heavy duty, robust feel to it (more so than the typical 3-point wheel adapters available for DIY users). Attaches quickly, precisely, and securely to the wheel lip. In my case they were first used on expensive custom aluminum wheels. With adjustable control arms and other suspension/steering mods I wanted to get things dialed in with the caster and camber specs I wanted. Under the circumstances, this would have been time consuming and expensive at a conventional alignment shop. Fortunately, the unit ships with plastic caps on each of the locator pins. Each pin with cap had poked a hole through the thin Chinese cardboard box it is packaged in. Included in the box was a very short bungee cord and a small, bagged plastic knob. There is no documentation to suggest what either of these items are for. Two tips: Check the curved tips of the locator pins for casting flash. If there, it’ll feel like a thick burr and are manufacturing or finishing flaws. Two pins had burrs with one of those worse than the other. I discovered the problem after it left marks on the lip of the wheel when it was clamped on the first time. I dressed the two offending tips with a file. There’s also a small machine screw that holds the round plate to the unit. Make sure it isn’t loose. Any play here can affect your camber readings when you attach a magnetic camber gauge to the plate. Overall, the tool works well and I’d recommend it to others. It’ll outlast me.

Quality tool to get the job done

If you're a diy-er and want to check and set your alignment this is a good tool. I used it with a magnet bubble alignment gauge. This mechanism is easy to use and is well made. I wish I had found it earlier...

I am impressed with the way it clamps to the rims. Does a good job has sufficient friction to stay where you put it.

I was looking forward to getting accurate readings with this when I ordered it. It looks to be a quality precision built instrument. Some reviews have discussed how the pegs that contact the rims have burrs in them and can damage your rims. I didn't have this problem, mine were nice and smooth. Maybe the manufacturer is starting to listen to us? I found that after checking the alignment on a particular car several times, I found that the readings were different. I thought maybe I had bent rims, so I checked the runout on my rims with a dial gauge and they were normal, so I suspected it may have something to do with the clamp. I laid the clamp with all the pegs installed on a granite countertop as well as a glass table and I was able to rock it back and forth on two opposing legs. I rotated the clamp and repeated several times just to rule out a warped surface, which would have been unlikely given they were glass and granite. Just to rule out an issue with the pegs, I removed them and tried rocking it again and it still rocked as you can see in the video. Poor quality control I guess. With it rocking the way it does, I can't get an accurate reading and if I can't get an accurate reading, what's the point. I want to exchange the one I have for one that isn't warped, but it seems Amazon isn't giving me the option to exchange, only to return. So I would have to blindly buy again and will probably get another warped one, whereas if I exchanged it for a replacement, they're likely to test the unit before sending the replacement. Or maybe I'll get one that isn't warped but the pegs are burred like other reviewers have reported. If I had access to a milling machine, I would mill this myself, but I don't and shouldn't have to. UPDATE: I ordered a new one from Amazon, but waited for it to arrive before sending the one I had back, just in case the replacement had burred pegs, I could switch them out. The new one didn't have the warpage problem. I'm happy with this one. I added two stars. Would have given it 5 if I didn't have to deal with these problems. I'll just say if you buy one, make sure you check it for warpage as soon as it arrives.

Works exactly as it should. From my perspective, it is dead-on accurate, provided the magnetic gauge you also need is accurate. Or i suppose my gauge is inaccurate in the way that counteracts the amount of inaccuracy in the clamp, which i find highly improbable. Very easy to install, use, and uninstall. This was by far the least expensive wheel clampI found on Amazon, and it is a great value.

Well built, packaged well to prevent shipping problems. We took my car to local repair shop who said they could do a 4 wheel alignment on my 2011 Hyundia Santa Fe gls. Had it on the ramp for 20 minutes when the shop foreman came in and started telling us there were problems and took my husband out to talk with young man doing the alignment. The alignment computer locked up wouldn't work due to sun on the rear mirrors so laser couldn't work. He didn't seem to have any experience doing 4 wheel alignments and didn't know where to do it on my car. So we purchased these and they worked great. He watched a few you tube videos on the use. So if you want to do your own these work well.

À partir du moment que la roue et le roulement n'ont pas de voile, le support permet de faire un alignement pour le parallélisme avant ou arrière. Pour ma part j'ai fixé un laser sur la platine. Pour moi ça fonctionne. Pour être équipé comme un pro il faudrait deux articles. Ne pas oublier de mettre des platines de ripage pour permettre à la roue de bien glisser lors du réglage. Pour ma part j'ai pris des planches à découper et je mets de l'huile entre les deux. Donc deux planches d'un côté et deux planches de l'autre et me voilà équipée de plaques de ripage.

I haven’t used my alignment wheel clamp. But I’m sure it will serve me well. It seems to be well constructed and ease to use.
