Works great. Strong signal, no issues after 6 months of use
Works very well. No cutting out or glitching. Signal is strong and will actually connect before I even get in the car since it's in an always on port. (I generally unplug it when I get out of the car though). Been in use for at least 6 months now and very happy with it.

Great Android Auto adapter
Have transferred it between several cars and it always connects easily. Currently fits perfectly in the cupholder compartment of a '25 GR86.

Long Term Durability
Edit 2 (March 2026): Overheating was NOT the fault of this unit and I’m restoring my rating. It was a USB port starting to fail on my Chrysler Voyager. I replaced that, and the overheating resolved. Edit (Dec 2025): Unit now overheats on longer drives. On a 5 hour trip I had to unplug it about every hour to cure audio glitching. It takes it approximately 30 min to cool each time. The right angle connector now has a short in it that causes every minor bump to disconnect it for a moment and I have to wait for everything else to reconnect. It’s not even 6 months old yet, buyer beware. Lowered one star for utter lack of longevity. Original Review: I’m not sure of the durability over the long haul. Just as my return window closed, it froze up and it took me several hours to get it to work again. While that’s the only glitch, a different (cheaper) brand I was using did the same thing right before dying completely. That said, when it works it’s good, the 90° connector and low profile size is appreciated due to the location of the port on my Voyager minivan.

Caveat Emptor...Unless you like wasting money
This thing worked great...For a month and a half...Conveniently just beyond the available return period. I was really excited to have this wireless connectivity and it was very easy to set up and worked great at first. However, just yesterday my phone would connect to the unit...But it would not launch Android Auto on my 2020 Honda CRV. Then, my phone would lose connection with the unit...Then reconnect...Then lose connection again...And reconnect again...And again...I think you get the idea. Then, when I tried to connect my phone using the wire/cord...It would not even open up Android Auto using the old reliable wired method. Long story short...After some Google searching, I found out how to reset my Infotainment System...And once I did that...I was able to use Android Auto using the wired method. I tried several times again to get the wireless unit to connect...But to no avail. Unfortunately wasted $60.00 on a unit that only last a little more than a month...All I can say is...Caveat Emptor...Let the Buyer Beware.

Tiny, simple, and it works!
This tiny device that is shaped like a thumb drive (and looks like one, too) turns a car that is configured and equipped for wired Apple Car Play or wired Android Auto into wireless Apple Car Play or Android Auto. There is little or no set up. Turn Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on in your phone, plug the device into the same port you use for a wired connection, pair your phone with the Ottocast via Bluetooth, and <boom> you are good to go. As you can imagine the instructions are sparse, so if you run into a glitch, you are probably going to have to figure it out for yourself. I did have a glitch. I went through the process of mating the phone and the Ottocast several times, so that I was connected wirelessly through Android Auto, but when I started the car back up, the connection would be gone. My car also has a Wi-Fi node that can be connected to for internet service, but it must be used exclusive of Android Auto or Apple Car Play. My phone was set up to automatically re-connect to that Wi-Fi connection, so when the car was re-started, the phone was connecting to the Toyota Wi-Fi rather than my phone's Wi-Fi. I disabled the auto connection to the phone's Wi-Fi, and when I started back up, the phone was automatically connected to Android Auto. Although Bluetooth is used for the initial pairing and set up, the connections there after are done via Wi-Fi. So far, so good. What a convenience to get rid of the wire!

Maybe it will connect with your phone...maybe not?
I'm about to return this. My android 22S Galaxy doesn't pick up the bluetooth name that is displayed on my car screen. I have android auto on my phone and its on in the apps. The phone doesn't see the Ottocast bluetooth for some reason. I unpaired my toyota bluetooth connection so it doesn't auto connect. I made sure Apple Car play was OFF. I kept scanning and scanning for the bluetooth and nothing. There was nothing on wifi either.

Fixed the iPhone 17 ios26.0.1 WiFi issue
I had been using a previous Ottocast adaptor for the last 4 years on my 2017 Audi Q7. This was stable & reliable with CarPlay on my iPhone 13 during that time. However I have just upgraded to an iPhone 17 Pro with ios26 and this was not good as it dropped out frequently (average of every 10 mins) but recovered automatically in about 10 seconds and carried on with Google Maps still navigating so not disastrous but frustrating on a long journey. Apple then declared a WiFi issue with with ios26 and then released ios26.0.1. I was keen to try this out but unfortunately it did not fix the issue with my old Ottocast adaptor. I then decided to try this new 2025 Ottocast adaptor and so far it hasn't dropped out once so would recommend this to others with the same issue. It was a breeze to setup.
