Where has this little machine been all of my life?!?
Let me start by saying that had I purchased this machine 9-10 years ago when my Starbucks addiction started, I would have been able to purchase this same machine 100-fold.For nearly a decade, I was a huge fan of the Starbucks espresso blend. It had a dark, almost burnt flavor that I simply loved. However, the time to travel to/from the store was a challenge for me at various assignments I held throughout the military and now working as a permanent teleworker/traveler. So, I had to get an espresso machine that fit the way I wanted to enjoy my coffee, with convenience and variety. This machine was heaven-sent in that it gave me the all-in-one functionality I was so craving. The ability to grind, brew, and puckify the grounds sold me immediately. I did a lot of research across many different manufacturers and settled on Jura based on reviews I saw online for their PEP tech.I am an avid espresso drinker, which fits my body perfectly as caffeine has very little, if any, impact on me. I genuinely love dark roast blends, the darker the better, and can drink a 6-shot before bed with no problem. Now that I have this machine, I always start my morning with a 6-shot over ice inside of a double-walled steel tumbler. The shots this machine pulls are nothing short of extraordinary. I was also introduced to ristretto which is something I've heard of previously but never remembered to try. Man, what a treat!I love this machine. I really, really do. I wanted a machine that pulled espresso and regular coffee, and that is it. I didn't need a milk frother, latte capabilities, or anything else. The only thing I wish I could have found from Jura was a dual-spout espresso machine that left off the other features. But, needless to say, this was a perfect retirement gift to myself after I separated from the military.I only have two complaints with this machine. The first is that, for the life of me, I cannot figure out how to stop the machine from requiring me to empty the grounds/drip tray after only two pulls on initial power-up in the morning. The trays could be completely empty, but I am forced to empty them about 80% of the time. This wasn't always the case as the machine worked beautifully when I first got it, but this has since started. The second complaint I have is that I never knew you could factory-reset a coffee machine. I had to perform this task when my machine started pulling quarter-shots, even on the full cup setting. The factory reset fixed it and I was back up and brewing again. For those that encounter this, here are the steps:1. Press and hold 1 and 3 bean buttons until top row lights up2. Remove water tank3. Hit large coffee cup and the machine should shut off4. Replace water tank5. Power on machineThat's it.Other than that, I am a huge fan of this machine, small complaints aside. I wish I would have purchased this years ago as it would have paid for itself many times over.

Simple, functional, elegant and excellent and quality
This coffee maker is the best value for money that you can get. Sure, it only does coffee but if you are a real coffee drinker then that is more than enough. It can grind the beans into different grades and produce espresso dopio or coffee and you can enjoy it. It's easy to maintain, easy to use and in addition to the wonderful coffee it reduces, it looks excellent in your office, kitchen, countertop or any other place where you wish to decorate it with elegance.

Great coffee maker
Some may find this a little expensive, but the coffee is well worth it. It is consistently rich and delicious. Maintenance so far has been worry free. It is easy to set up, easy to clean and takes up very little counter space. The cup size is rather small at first but you can adjust pour size easily...or just brew two cups. I use Stumptown beans and each cup is as delicious as the last. We have a larger Jura machine that has been cranking out cups for the last three or four years - sometimes up to 8-10 cups per day. The math works out for me, especially given the taste of the coffee.

Love the Coffee it makes.
So far so good. Some of the functions are not intuitive, read the short manual and go to you tube for additional info if needed. I Have gone through one cleaning without event and will be descalling in the future. Adjusting cup size, understanding flashing lights, learning the ground coffee shoot, takes a bit, but when you think it doesn’t make sense keep going because it does. I use the ground coffee shoot for the occasional decaf. I had to mix decaf in with regular beans at first because I was drinking way too much coffee, it was so good. Now that I have settled in I can start to remove the decaf beans. The water tank is small but so easy to fill it hasn’t been a bother. I am using the grounds for the garden. I have a pretty little compost bin sits next to the machine until full. I bought the warranty (I never buy warranties but thought this might be worth the investment since we use it so much) and hope to never need it. Time will tell.

Great coffee maker except one thing
I love the coffee maker. Makes a great cup of coffee everytime. However, it has one flaw. It doesn't allow you to change the water temperature. If you add a little cold milk, the coffee isn't hot enough. So, you have to microwave. For a coffee maker that does everything for you to make a great cup of coffee, this is really kind of inconvenient. Some higher end jura models allow you to change the water temperature.

Love this machine
When my original JURA 1300 started having some problems after 17 years of faithful service, I searched around and angsted a lot and finally opted for this A1. I have had it almost a year now and I couldn't be more pleased. There are a couple of little tricks to learn (like making sure the beans hopper top and the water reservoir are properly in place (and sometimes having to empty the grounds tray even though you just emptied it), but basically the thing is a snap to use and it has been giving me daily faithful service. One odd/ineresting thing I have noticed over my years using various JURA machines is that the same types of coffee beans don't always taste the same from one machine to another. So getting a new machine (even if replacing with the same exact model) may require a trial/sample period and some patience on your part to settle on the right coffee bean brand and roast type. But I have absolutely no complaints. I love my A1.
