Not even worth 1star. Stay away from this seller. Product was not what was advertised as it didn’t work and wouldn’t refund my money. They don’t stand behind their products!!!

The refrigerator ice maker crashed years ago, and I wasn't inclined to spend a lot of money on it. Since then, we buy two big bags of ice and run through them in a week, often still needing a couple of ice trays. In South Texas the two of use a lot of ice and would have liked to have used more but for fear of running out. No fears like than now. I think this machine could keep up with a large family in a warm climate, so long as someone kept the water tank filled. The product has been exceeding expectations. I can fill the old ice maker bucket every day with ease. I'll probably only run it all day about every third day. I could easily make and bag a LOT of ice for an event. I had increased the ice making time which is how you increase thickness, but have cut it back. At the maximum time, the sheet part of the ice that connects the cubes was too thick and hard to break. I cut the time back, and it makes blocks that fall apart when I drop them in the freezer bucket. It has reliably suspended operation when the bin is full and started right back up when it was emptied. And stopped when the water tank ran out and started when it was filled. I was easily able to force an ice dump. You can certainly hear it. Some compared it to their dishwasher. Maybe they had quiet dishwashers, but it's not nearly so loud as the last dishwasher I owned years ago. It's only a bit louder than the microwave. The ice has been high quality, pretty clear with just water from a Brita pitcher filter. This is in every way easier and more efficient than I expected. The ice bin will fill up long before there's much melt. It keeps frozen well, considering that the bin is not refrigerated.

Love this ice maker! I previously had a bullet-style ice maker, and it was fine, but the ice melted very quickly, both inside the unit and in drinks. This takes a little longer to make ice, but it makes actual ice cubes that last longer, and the ice basket is much deeper so the ice takes longer to melt inside the unit. I cut it off before bed and when I get up in the morning, there is still ice leftover in the basket. I would repurchase this item over a bullet-style ice maker in the future. I had considered a nugget ice maker, but felt that this was a better deal for the price. In regards to noise levels, I think it is comparable to the nugget ice maker I had previously. I don’t find it loud or distracting, but you can definitely hear it running.

I’ve had this machine for exactly 60 days, which is apparently the precise lifespan of its will to live. It started out as a promising little countertop companion, quietly producing ice like a loyal frozen beverage servant. Now? It sounds like a garbage disposal trying to eat a bag of marbles every time it attempts to make a fresh batch. The grinding noise is so aggressive and mechanical that I genuinely thought a tiny construction crew had become trapped inside the unit. Every cycle begins with optimism and ends with what can only be described as the death rattle of a haunted blender. And let’s discuss the ice itself, because consistency clearly wasn’t invited to this party. One batch comes out looking like elegant little crystal cubes fit for a luxury spa water station. The next resembles damp aquarium gravel. The texture and thickness are wildly inconsistent, as though the machine spins a wheel every morning to decide what form of water it should take today. Some cubes are thick enough to survive the next ice age. Others dissolve faster than my patience while listening to the machine scream through another grinding episode. For something whose entire purpose in life is to freeze water into reasonably uniform shapes, this machine has developed an impressive identity crisis in only two months.

Having used a $50 ice maker and a $250 ice maker, I'd say this is the sweet spot. The ice maker maintains the same width and depth as other small budget friendly options, but adding the water on top means more ice basket space and you can see the water level; since the water basin is removable, a dedicated person could upgrade the water basin. The ice area is also somewhat insulated so the ice will melt, but it will take a while. The scoop does a good job breaking up the ice too; speaking of, the ice is crystal clear. Lastly, there is a mechanism to detect when the tray is full which should prevent issues after long enough use. Not everything is perfect. Keep the manual because the control panel isn't intuitive, and sometimes I question myself when I try to open the lid and my fingers just slide up the plastic like pulling a push door with a pull handle. The scoop annoys me to scoop with so I've turned to dumping the basket, or using my hands. Also, the water basin when empty doesn't sit flush meaning it uses the weight of the water to secure the basin in place; I see a potential for leakage there, but it hasn't happened in 2 days. The unit's fan and running water does create mild noise comparatively, but the ice dropping is noticably louder. Lastly there is an option to control the "thickness" of the ice, but it really controls how deep the divet in the center of the cube is as well as how long the process lasts before dropping the ice. Using a meter, I measured less than 1W idling, and 150-170W while operating. After a full 24 hours of use where I more or less emptied the ice more than usual (first 4 times for cleanliness, then to stockpile) as well as subtracted 1 minute from the ice making process, I measured about 0.87KW. My negative paragraph was longer, but only because I expected a little more having upgraded from the $50 ice maker. However, this feels like a good upgrade as now I have more ice ready for longer and don't have to remove the basket to check the water level. The reduced noise for the most part has also been peaceful.
