Limited Mounting Options
If you want to mount this on the cabin roof of a boat, you're going to have to drill al hole through the roof. Same goes for mounting it on your truck. If you want to run the cable along the surface of the roof, you're going to have to make your own mount. The reason is that the manufacturer did not put a slot in the bottom of their light, so the light cannot sit flush on any surface unless it has the cable going into a hole through the surface. Since the cable that goes into the bottom of the light is fixed, you have to live with the fact that you need to make the hole bigger than the cable, by a fair amount, to accommodate the plug end, which is easily three cable thickness in circumference. That's too bad, and cost a full star. Other lights I have worked with have a channel in the base, to run the cable out the side of the base plate, and they cost less too. Sure, this is a nice light, and the build quality is superior, but that flaw with the lack of cable channel reduces the utility of the light. Additionally, many will want to use a battery to power their lights, and if that's you, you're going to need to buy your own connectors or alligator clamps, because none are included in this kit. Another too bad, especially considering that this is one of the higher priced lights in this category on Amazon. Four Star Rotating Boat/Truck Light Four Star

Top notch spotlight
This spotlight has a wide range of coverage, a sturdy build, and smart safety features. Boaters that need a reliable rotating light without a hassle can’t go wrong with this one. It’s got a lot of value for its price. I’ve been using this for about a month, and it’s surprisingly reliable for its price. You can control the spotlight with a remote, whether it’s wired or wireless. It swipes across all directions smoothly and is great for tracking activity around boats, trucks, or campsites. I don’t know if it is really 2,700 lumens (probably not), but the beam gives you great visibility at medium-to-long range. When I put it near my boat’s helm, it lit up the wider docking areas and open water clearly. It is easy to install and the housing feels solid and doesn’t corrode or let water in even when it’s exposed to vibration and saltwater. The auto-reset ensures that the spotlight shuts off safely if it overheats. I’ve used it on long trips and it keeps working without me having to do anything. It protects both the light and the battery. The spotlight rotates smoothly, but if you’re in choppy water, you need to make sure it’s firmly mounted to prevent it from bouncing or misaligning. Even after running for a long time, the auto-reset kicked in once and then kept working smoothly. I didn’t have to reset it, and the brightness didn’t go down, which I found really impressive.

Search for a search light that works
Luckily, I decided to check the search light and it’s maneuverability before I installed it in my boat and it turned left to right and right to left, but it didn’t go up and down and malfunction. That’s why I didn’t re-order I’m looking for something else.

Excellent
I've yet to mount this to my truck as I haven't picked out the perfect mounting spot yet, but I hooked it up and gave it a test last weekend while tooling around in the countryside and it really is very good. The beam is incredibly bright and very wide, ideal for illuminating an area while you set up camp. The build quality is excellent all around. Nothing about this feels cheap. From the light to the base it feels durable and tough. I expected as much given the price, so I was relieved that it feels like a high quality piece of equipment that should last for many years. I'd say the quality matches the price, so it's pretty good value for money. I ordered the wired version (would have preferred the wireless, of course, but I couldn't snag it before it ran out), and it's very easy to use. I love the features available from the remote. You can rotate side to side and up and down, return to centre at the touch of a button, and activate flash, fade and an SOS signal. The functionality is excellent. My only gripe is one mentioned by another reviews. The cable runs through the base, which lacks a cutout to run the cable through, so you'll need to drill a hole for your cable through the surface to which you're mounting the light. I expect I'll eventually mount the light to the roof of my truck, but I'm delaying the job until I'm 100% sure of the correct position.

Super bright spot for the truck!
Brightness: High lumen output Functionality: Remotely throw light where you need it This spotlight kit is pretty excellent. As soon as I got it I installed it on my truck ASAP. Putting it on was super easy...I mounted it to a 2x6 board into the bed of my truck. I placed a small battery to connect it. Using the wired remote is nice as I can fully articulate the camera in any direction to place light where I need it. The light throws out a ton of linens to really light up the dark and it shoots a long distance. The light itself appears well sealed against the elements. The body is plastic so won't have to worry about rust. All in all, this is a really nice spotlight kit - 5 stars from me!

Powerful Little Workhorse
Don’t let the small size fool you-this thing can put out some serious light. Be careful and make sure to place it somewhere that isn’t at eye level for anyone nearby because it can and will do damage! The remote control feature can help that to be a practical task. You can still control the device when it’s out of reach enhancing safety. To be honest okay first I couldn’t see the point of the remote but upon trying this light out it quickly made a lot of sense. Frankly I wouldn’t want to use it without a remote now! It seems to be made from quality materials and I hope it lasts a long time.
