Great pedals for foot problems
This is a great pedal for everyone and especially great for people who have foot pain. The longer length of the pedal body allows the pressure to be spread over a larger area of your foot while pedaling. Pedaling Innovations makes a pedal called the Catalyst that is specifically designed for foot pain and is of similar dimensions, but it costs about 3.5X the price of the MKS Lambda pedal. Your feet don't care how much you spend as long as they get some relief. Two things to know about MKS pedals: 1) the bearings are a little tight right out of the box. Don't try and adjust them. Just ride them and after a few rides they break in and feel great. Once they break in, they stay smooth for as long as you own them. 2) If you are worrying about ordering pedals from Amazon Japan, don't worry. It's no different from the regular Amazon except it takes a little longer but amazingly fast especially considering how far the package has to travel.

My favorite pedal
If you’re a fan of bicycles that can be ridden in ordinary street shoes, and you don’t cover yourself in Lycra before every ride, these may be the best pedals for you. I now have them on three different bicycles, starting with the Rivendell Atlantis I bought back in 1999. They easily accommodate my size 12 shoes, yet they’re not too big for smaller feet. The bearings may feel rough at first, but they smooth out with use, and if you even manage to wear them out, rebuild kits are available.

Excellent in the rain
Kind of expensive for flat pedals but they are superb. Nice broad surface allows you to change your foot position to reduce fatigue and you can really put a lot of power in the bike. They don't have any shin ripper spikes, like other pedals, and are less likely to injure you. But even without the spikes, they grip extremely well. They work best with soft-soled shoes. If your shoes have a hard or stiff sole, they won't grip as well. Plus they have a very unusual look - like they mean business.

Rough bearings
Although I like the design, I find the bearings a little rough for a pedal of this price and one manufactured in Japan.

These are the bomb. And they have a hidden use.
I ride two bikes with these pedals. A Brompton with removables and an ebike. But on a Brompton, only one pedal needs to be removable. The other one is hidden by the fold. So I put one removable on the Brompton and one on the eBike, where it is a great theft deterrent if I need to lock the bike up for a few hours. If you defeated two locks, you'd have a heavy bike with no battery, no way to turn it on, and only one pedal.

Solid
MKS hasn't let me down yet. These are just as solid as the touring pedals--metal construction except for the reflectors. I like the longer pedal surface as it gives you more contact without sticking out on the sides. They did need a little time for the grease to break in but they are smooth as butter now.

Cool looking pedals
Coolest looking pedals I've had on a bike. Very smooth when riding. Smaller than I expected.
