Levi's Women's 501 Original Shorts (Also Available in Plus)

I love these shorts ! There comfy and cute hands down one of the best shorts I’ve purchased ! The only thing is that you need to size up ! I’m a size 4 which is a size 27 and I have to size up 2 sizes so a 29. Keep sizing up in mind when purchasing these !

LOVE these shorts! I found them in Kohls for $15 more and was so happy to find them on sale in the Amazon spring sale. They are so comfortable and great quality. Not cheap or lightweight material, thick jeans material which will last for years. I love the button up fly because it slims out my lower belly and flattens the pooch! They do run small so size up! I typically wear a 29/30 or 8/10 and had to size up to a 31 and even then they fit snug (but I like them snug). They are SHORT so if you don’t like short shorts these aren’t for you. I’m 5 ft 6 in tall, 188lbs.

I'm 5'5 115 lbs and usually a size 27 in levis, so that's what i got. I got them in "lunar black" and "black deconstructed." Not sure why, since both of these shorts are really similar except for one of them has more rips in them (I can't remember exactly what i was thinking at the time when i ordered, but LOL I do remember feeling ridiculously torn about which ones to get!). Despite the fact that they're supposed to be the same size, the "black deconstructed" pair was too small for me (both too short and tight). They did seem to have a 2.5 inch inseam, so maybe they were just tighter in the waist and forced me to pull them up higher? I don't know, but they measured about 11inches long from the waist band to the bottom on the sides. They're really cute, but small enough that i had to return them. Still considering if it's worth ordering them in size 28 (since i'm keeping the other ones, probably not, but i also feel like i can never have too many pairs of shorts if i like them). The size 27 "lunar black" shorts measure nearly 12 inches long with a nearly 3 inch inseam. They weren't as tight as the other pair and fit me like normal. You wouldn't think it from looking at them though (i don't know if it's the cut or whatever, but they LOOK like they should be shorter than the other pair). I hate that they have a button fly (i find them so annoying!!!) but i like the style enough to deal with it. As for whether you should order up, Levis DOES advise sizing up with these. I ignored that, b/c I was worried that if i ordered these shorts too big they would look like a saggy diaper on me, but now i think one size bigger would be okay, so i say go for it. They are 100 percent cotton, so they'll loosen up with wear, but they could also shrink depending on how you wash.

I ordered sizes 27 & 26 to compare because this is my first pair of Levi shorts and I’m not familiar with their sizing. I tried the 27 on and immediately it was too big. The 26 fit PERFECTLY, there’s a little bit of waist gap but that’s just due to my waist. I’m 5’4.5, 136lbs and my waist measurement is 26.5. In other brands shorts/pants I wear a size 6, small/medium. The quality is amazing, I feel like there’s just the tiniest bit of stretch but they’re comfy! The color is super cute too! If you’re unsure of your size, just buy 2 options and try them on, it’s easy to just return the one that didn’t fit, and that way you’ll have a better peace of mind :)

Excellent shorts!!!! Not too long and not too short. I’m 154lbs and 5’4 and the size 29 fits me a bit tight in the waist but I’m losing weight so they will be perfect in a week or two because the overall fit is perfect. I just ordered a second pair. Will definitely buy more once I get to my goal weight.

I have been researching these shorts and other shorts for a while now on Amazon. It's so hard to buy the right fitting shorts online but that's the only way I shop anymore. I read how some people say to size up by 1 or 2. I'm typically in a size 6 (or 28 in these style measurements). I typically buy really stretchy pants/ shorts and these are not advertised for that. I have thinner thighs/ legs but a bigger midsection/stomach. I want them big enough in the waist but not too big on my legs so my body is tricky. I saw a lot of thinner waisted girls with bigger thighs which seem to work perfectly with these shorts but I'm the opposite body type. I debated a ton on even getting these and if so what size??!? The struggle is real lol! I ended up pulling the trigger when they were on the big spring sale for around $20. I bought the very light jean color without tears and went up 2 sizes to a size 30. I got them, tried them on and was pretty happy but they could be better in my opinion for my body type. The legs were very wide but the waist fit perfectly!!!! I decided to keep as I love how they were slightly lose on my waist which never happens but the downfall is the leg openings are pretty big. I definitely think these were made for thin waisted big thighed gals. They have the buttons instead of zipper which are nice but also more time consuming if you gotta go lol. They seem a bit stiff but I have yet to wash them (hopeful they shrink a tad and aren't so stiff). They have pockets which I love. The length was pretty good too, I was afraid they would show my butt but they do not. I'm going to keep them and hope I don't look ridiculous in them lol. I absolutely love the waist fit but I wish the leg opening was a bit tighter. It is hard to fit all body types and so I understand that. Pros: The color options are excellent! I prefer the extremely light jean wash myself. I like the fabric how it's not super clingy. The hip area doesn't stick tight on you if you get the right size. Size up!! The length is good, not exposing too much. Cons: The leg opening is just too wide. They seem unproportionate to the waist. I would prefer the sizing to be more accurate as well. I don't like the high price, it is too expensive to pay $40+ for shorts! Overall, I bought a pair on sale and had to size up by 2 sizes. The waist is perfect but leg openings are way too wide. Length is decent. I will keep and see how they go. I give them a 3/5 overall. If your body type is different, you may like more than I do for that reason. Just size up and good luck!!!

These Levi’s 501 shorts are honestly the most flattering high-waisted jean shorts I’ve owned. They fit in all the right places and give a really nice, comfortable shape without feeling too tight or stiff. The material is great quality and feels durable, like they’ll last a long time even with frequent wear. I also love the color—it’s really pretty and goes with pretty much everything.

They are good quality, definitely 100% cotton and they look like actual Levi's. Absolutely 0 complaints on that front. The distressing is stable and doesn't rip further, or go up too high. They do not fit me as I'd have liked. I am 5'6, 95lbs, 24.25inch waist and 36 inch inch hip measurement (smallest and largest measurements), they are loose on my waist when standing and not fully tight when sitting. My butt is just barely covered. Looks like I took scissors to some jeans and went up too high because the back hem is higher than the front. Will edit this review if washing and drying on high heat + stretching the legs works.

Can't go wrong with a classic blue jean when it comes to showing off a butt of any shape. Levi's always flatter and these have the perfect distressed look and a trendy high waist.

Good quality however absolutely no stretch so if in between sizes size up
