Absolute Must have for windy areas.
We have a 24' above ground pool, and we live on a hill with no other houses or trees to stop any winds coming from the west. Put our pool cover on in the fall and had a terrible time with the cover whipping around like a parachute when the winds came. It blew off twice, even with tightening the cord around the pool, and wrapping the cover with the "saran wrap" to try and keep air from getting under the cover. The cover blowing in the wind was so loud sometimes at night, I was literally beside myself not knowing what to do. I accidentally came across these bags and thought it was worth a try and - THANK GOODNESS I did!I used 8 of these bags, 4 directly on the side of the pool that faces west, that gets the bad winds. The other 4 are spaced evenly around the rest of the circumference of the pool.I have a rope anchored by tent spikes in the ground, then put the rope over the side of the pool and through the grommets in the wall bag. This works absolutely perfectly, and the pool cover has not budged since I put these wall bags into use. Note that I also still have the "saran wrap" pool wrap around the circumference of the pool cover as well.If you have trouble with high winds, I absolutely recommend getting these bags! Worked like a charm for me. When you fill them with water, and they probably hold a gallon or so, leave enough room for water expansion when it freezes in the winter.I see another reviewer had some problems with leakage and poor quality - I did not have any issues with mine, no leaks, no tears in this group of bags.

Great above-ground pool water bags that lasted into a third season!
Finally! Above-ground pool water bags that were easy to open, easy to fill with water, and stayed on the cover even when the wind blew this crazy winter! I did use them in conjuction with the Horizon HVWCS-12 Winter Cover Sealer for Above Ground Pool Covers, 500-Feet which made a HUGE difference in keeping my cover in place. Will use the same method next year!Update October 2020...These water bags are still working for me, third season! The trick is I don’t empty them in the summer, just store them behind the shed covered by a wheel barrel. When I was ready to close the pool I just hosed off any dirt and reused them. I did purchase new pool bags this year but the first two I filled with water (in the kitchen sink) I could see them immediately leaking from a seam and they were impossible to close.I highly recommend these pool bags! Be sure you don’t overfill them. And use a little baseline or olive oil around the opening to make it easier to close. In the spring don’t bother emptying them, the less you fuss with the closure the better. One more piece of advice, but the best and heaviest gauge cover you can afford. I discovered the cheaper thin covers blow like crazy in the wind no matter how many pool bags, clips, or plastic wrap you use. A heavier cover just doesn’t catch the wind as easily. And it’ll survive the winter better too for use next year. Good luck everyone!

Not great for very cold weather
I purchased four to keep the pool cover afloat and one of them always loses air. Kind of expensive for what they should do.

Bags for multi purpose use!
I liked that these bags could also be used to help with our in-ground pool gaps in our new pool cover. We had to drill new holes in a section of cement, but gaps occurred anyway with the cover. So the bags filled easy and we’re used to hold the cover to the cement to prevent debris from getting in the pool! Very heavy duty bags. Good buy and can be emptied and reused at the end of winter season.

Perfect Fit
They are the perfect size to fit on the top of my pools coping to hold winter cover down. After filling them 3were leaking at the seam. Very disappointing. I needed all to go around the pool

BAIT AND SWITCH!!!
I don't usually complain about my purchases but this is too irritating!! I received the Wall Bags today and could tell right away there was a difference in thickness. Then looked at the packages closer and there was a different number on the heavier ones. The lighter weight ones are 154 and the heavier are 155. Had I know I was going to get half of my order in thinner bags, 154, I would not have ordered these from Amazon. (trying to save some money on so many, 10 packages=40 bags) I had looked several places and knew there was a difference in the bags. I paid the same price for all 10 packages (40 bags.) The thin (154) will not last one winter. I am not happy about this!!Bait and switch...........SCHEME!!!I would have give the heavier bags a 5 star but half my order is the thinner 154 bags and I DON'T LIKE THEM!!!

Worked Well
They are a little hard to fill, but not too bad. They worked well with the high winds, but after winter 2 of the covers opened and lost all the water. I had 8 on the pool. I would purchase again. These are a 1 time use IMO, and buy new ones each year.

Blue Wave Wall Bags for Above Ground Pool Cover
One of these had a hole in it, so lost a star for that. For the reset, work good and hold water. You only want to fill them halfway. Makes sure to use rope that does not stretch. We are happy with them and bought some more to finish our pool cover.
