This is a great, high quality food. Being grain-free definitely helps with weight control. Best way to reduce dog weight safely is to feed your dog the amount of calories needed for the target weight you are shooting for (your dog's 'ideal weight.') For example, if you want your dog to weigh 50 pounds but your dog now weighs 60 pounds, feed your pooch the number of calories required for a 50 pound dog -- which would be about 875 calories per day. This Victor variety is 397 calories per cup. So if you fed one cup in the morning and one cup in the evening, that will cover 794 of the daily calories, leaving 81 calories for treats and snacks.
