Crisco All-Vegetable Shortening 16 Oz. Pack Of 3.

I was surprised when I received these that they were half the size i expected. They are not returnable. Disappointed.

Purchased this Crisco to make an emergency candle. I bought the glass jar from another online retailer because I could not find one on Amazon. We had lost power for a an entire week last fall and luckily had a large candle we burned for those days for light & warmth. So after that I needed to get another large candle and came across some great YouTubers with tutorials on how to make an emergency survival candle. This candle should burn for many many hours. Simple to make. You can place a terracotta pot over it like a lampshade and it will also throw a good amount of risidual heat to keep you warm in a small room in an emergency situation.

Like the 6 pound cans, shipping was a lot.

It can still be used, but the can was bent at the top.

I have used Crisco for all my pie making days and wouldn't use anything else. It's the perfect shortening for pies. I don't use it for anything else.

I like the fact that ordering the 3 pk means having a fresh can on hand as needed!

I watched a hilarious YouTube video recently of Martha Stewart demonstrating using Crisco to cure a cast iron skillet.She was very serious throughout the video and at the end, she announced - with a sly smile - that YOU TOO could appear to have "inherited" a well-cured cast iron skillet from your family with this little trick. "Old money" and all....I didn't know how lucky I was to have inherited a well-cured skillet! Good breeding, I guess! No felony charges or prison time involved!

So glad I ordered this. The on going Oil Crisis is causing us to stock up on anything we can fry with. I first saw and heard of Crisco through a Media Channel where an American woman was using it to make pastry. She also took some to fry with. I've already tried the Buttery flavoured Crisco from Amazon and a little goes a long way it tasted like real butter! One spoonful is enough to fry more than one egg! I even fry pancakes using Crisco shortening too.. My partner is Vegetarian so we decided to order this Vegetable version for trying his foods. Not tasted it yet but it can't be much different to normal cooking oil. My local supermarket doesn't stock it so a great find on Amazon! Very good value for this huge 1.3 kg sized tin.

I bought this for using as part of a cake-making business. I only needed a tiny amount but couldn't find a smaller container in stock, so what to do with the excess? I have discovered that this makes a great skating rink in the kitchen (as long as the floor is tiled), but you will have to spend money on ice skates which are also available on Amazon. My partner and I are now like Torville and Dean and thinking of entering the 2022 Commonwealth games with our pirouettes and other useful tricks. I suppose that you could also use this as a lubricant for anything from squeaky door hinges, to bedroom use, but have yet to try this as I am having too much fun learning to ice skate. If you are a hit-man, you could probably smear this on your victim's car brakes as an alternative to cutting the lines but, like I say, we are enjoying it's ice-rink like properties at the moment.

This may be what the Americans use to make pastry but it's VILE. How they claim this is MARVELLOUS to make pastry is beyond me..I shall be going back to my all butter pastry recipe after using CRISCO omg it really is VILE

I ordered 2 tins. The first tin I opened was separated and not usable for the intended purpose of icing a wedding cake. The 2nd tin was usable. At the price I have lost good money as the product is not eligible for return
