Sturdy Pool Ladder
Needed to replace above ground pool ladder & was looking for one that would be extremely sturdy that would withstand 3 young grandchildren's usage. After much research I chose this ladder the "Rollquard" A-Frame Ladder/Model #7200. I couldn't be more pleased with my selection of this ladder. Not only did my purchase arrive earlier than stated delivery date but the ladder itself is top-notch. The material that the ladder is constructed from is extremely sturdy (not flimsy plastic that bends under weight). The assembly instructions are easy to follow & understand. The assembly of the ladder doesn't require a workshop of tools. The only tools needed: Rubber Mallet, cordless drill w/ Phillips driver, 5/16" drill bit, Phillips screwdriver, Pliers & a garden hose. A second set of hands is also helpful! I found that by putting all the ladder parts (including the necessary hardware) together in the step by step assembly instructions was helpful. Total Ladder assembly time: approximately-1 1/2 hrs. Once this ladder is assembled it's extremely sturdy. After the ladder is put in & over the pool wall it has stabilizer rails that you anchor/attach to the upper pool railing that will prevent the ladder from rocking side to side or tipping over. It also increases the sturdiness & safety of the ladder. Another safety feature of the ladder is the rollquard that when closed covers the ladder steps on the outside of the pool, preventing access to climb ladder steps. Includes a padlock w/keys to use for extra safety. The only problem I encountered when putting the ladder into the pool: my inner pool floor is dug out & extends to 5 1/2' in the center. So my inside pool floor was deeper than the outside which caused the ladder to lean forward in the pool. I corrected this by digging out the needed depth on the outside of the pool wall to match the inside pool depth. Once the ladder was installed & the stabilizer bars anchored to the upper pool railing there is no movement, rocking or tipping of the ladder. The ladder steps & deck are rated to withhold up 300#. Upon testing the ladder steps & deck with an adult close to the 300# weight, I didn't notice any bending or giving of the steps/deck or movement of the ladder. As a pool owner for over 40 years this is the best above ground pool ladder I have ever seen. Also as a grandparent of 3 young grandchildren, the sturdiness of the ladder & the safety feature of the locking rollquard to prevent access to the ladder steps helps ensure the safety/well-being of my "Grand-littles"! I'm looking forward to a fun & safe swimming summer with them. I highly recommend this pool ladder for its sturdy quality materials, easy assembly/installation and safety measures.

Safest & Best Ladder on the Market for Deckless Above Ground Pools.!
Intex 16' x 48" Ultra Frame .. This is a great ladder it's real beefy. Took about About 2 hrs to assemble. Couldn't find my rubber mallet bought new one for $10 ... also picked up two 41" black rubber bungee cords from Lowes for $6 Instructions were very clear, 4 steps to full assembly ..Step 5 is placing & securing ladder in pool. Only 2 issues 4 me .. First.. During assembly on the top of the Outside Right Rail (OR).. The pre-punched hole for the screw that locks the ladder bridge into place was not centered and would not allow the screw to line up with nut & catch threads. I used a small rat tail file to wallow out hole in the 10-11 o'clock position so bolt threads would catch and secure... left side was spot on. Second After placing the ladder into pool & filling with water ..Instructions call for mounting small plastic stabilizer rails on both sides of ladder. These stabilizer rails are secured by drilling a hole on each side of the ladder into the top rail of my pool & screwing them down. I did not see the need or benefit of drilling holes into my pool top rail and at the same time putting 2 holes in my liner that covers the top rail. The instructions state 'Be careful not to damage the pool wall or liner.' There's no way to mount the stabilizer rails without putting holes in the liner as well as the the top rail. ..I also might want to move the ladder.. The stabilizer rails in my opinion are to secure the ladder to the pool & keep it from tipping over from wild human use, you can tip the ladder without a stabilizer on it but your gonna have to really rock it a bit (The filling with water adds stability & really makes it heavy to move around) . The stabilizer rails also keep it close to the inside wall of the pool & keep little ones from trying to swim behind the ladder. What shall we do..what shall we do.. I don't want holes in my top rail or my liner & I might want to move my ladder. Introducing ...Bungee Cord Stabilizers ...Stronger, Easier and Faster to install (No Drilling holes in top rail) Or (drilling holes through liner.) B4 purchase. I read a review of same problem & realized this prob might come up with the Intex 48" Ultra Frame & it did. That's why I picked up the Bungee Cords the other review stated this was a good fix and better than the plastic stabilizers. I have to agree.! Bungee Cords make the ladder movable if should want to move it and you don't have to drill holes in the top rail & liner which just doesn't make sense to me. (4 my pool anyway) The thick black rubber bungee cords allow for wrapping with tension & pull the ladder to the side of the pool super tight against the top rail. Securing 1 side at a time & using only 1 of the S hooks on each the bungees. I thread the hook-less end of each bungee through the nice perfect holes located on each side of the ladder (pool side) just above the top step. Stretching each Bungee on each side going over the pool top rail and securing each one to the pool frame support pole that is located on each side of the ladder wrapping once around the pole for tension and securing the hook-less end of Bungee to the S hook on the opposite end. Using only 1 S hook makes a nice clean connect just under the (T) of top rail on the outside of the support pole. Perfect..! The bungees on each side pull against each other while pulling it super tight against the top rail. I have absolutely no wobble even when standing on top deck and howling at the moon. The ladder is much wider than the stock Intex ..which is not usable & dangerous Steps feel good & wide 18'' vs 13'' I'm still trying to fig who might get through the 13'' hand rails on the stock intex.. "It was like.. This is not going to happen, someone might die doing this. We all just sat around the table and looked at the stock intex .. U got 2 B kidding.. It was that bad. We could not use our pool until this ladder arrived... So I ordered the ladder.. Super fast free shipping, I ordered on night of May 24 arrived that Fri the 27 at noon across the country and at my door in 2 days free.! Amazon showed it taking a week.. but No it was moving and moving fast.! Big Box was in perfect condition ..well packed.. all parts are in sealed plastic bag and includes a key lock to lock the roll-guard, which is Just awesome..! roll-guard works like a charm..! Nice touch..! Helps Keep it kiddie safe .. Lots of R&D went into this ladder .. Much better beefy & stronger than I expected.! Even with the 2 issues I mention ..the bolt hole out of line just a bit.. and the stabilizer rails mounting issue.. I still think this is the best ladder on the market at this time for above ground pools without a deck.! My Ladder is now safe, stable & wobble free.! . Pool party tested and passed - handles small, med, large and ex-large humans.. no Prob..! I hope this review helps.. Its a great ladder.. Buy it you won't be sorry.. It's also made in the USA.! 5 stars all the way.!

Great ladder
Plastic (or high-grade polymer / resin) pool ladders are a popular choice for above-ground pools because they balance affordability, corrosion resistance, and ease of installation. Here are some key factors that matter for plastic pool ladders: • Material Quality: High-density polyethylene (HDPE) or commercial-grade resin is common; these materials resist pool chemicals and UV damage much better than cheap plastics. • Step Design & Safety: Steps should be non-slip, with drainage holes or slats so water doesn’t pool, which also helps prevent algae buildup. • Structural Stability: Because plastic is lighter than metal, good ladders counteract buoyancy (if in-pool) or include secure deck mounting. • Weight Capacity: Plastic ladders generally support less weight than steel ones, so your ladder should clearly state its maximum load. • Maintenance: Easier to maintain than metal — no rust, but plastic can become brittle over time, especially in intense sun

Sturdy, well built and very plastic.
Of all the things I've had to learn about above ground pools over the last few years (including that I probably shouldn't have bought a house with an above ground pool) the one thing I've ignored for too long is the ladder. As a result, our old ladder had become something like a death trap from Indiana Jones: though it was entertaining to see guests get that 'omg they are cutting the ropes to this bridge' look as they wobbled unsteadily near the top, it was definitely time for a new one and I went with this Confer A-Frame. I'm pretty happy with the result so far (about three weeks in). It's remarkably easy to put together - I only used maybe two bad words during the process - and most of the parts snap together like some sort of big plastic Lego set. And I'm not kidding when I say it's a big plastic set; these Confer people are pretty serious about the stuff and I'm pretty sure if they could have made the screws, instructions and box out of plastic they would have. That also means the finished ladder is pretty light, though, as I was able to carry the thing and put it into the pool with no help. The only tool you really need for the construction of the ladder is something to tap down on the parts to lock them into place. The instructions recommend a rubber mallet, which I didn't have. I *did* have a hammer, tape and a small towel though so...mission accomplished. There are two holes to let you fill one side of the ladder with water once you get it into the pool. There's a little more work when it comes to securing the ladder in the pool; it has two rails to screw into ladder once you know where they will sit on top of the pool wall. It also has two screws that go down into the rails and into the pool 'ledge' around the top, so that means you will have to break out the drill and drill a couple of 1/4" holes into it. I'd say I hit probably 4 bad words during this process. TIP: the instructions will show a couple of holes in the ladder and the rail for guiding you with these various screws, but you might not see them in reality. Just remember: plastic. They are there, just hidden by thinner plastic. I was able to take a screwdriver and hammer them out very easily. Once that was done though, the ladder seems very sturdy and secure. The 'rollguard' that closes around the ladder installs easily and slides around it just as easy. The lock near the top is a little tough to push in and out though, so keep that in mind when you want to lock it for the night. There's also an extra spot for the padlock (included!) as well. Alas, it is also not made of plastic. All in all I'm happy with the purchase and pleased with the performance so far, even if it has taken away some of the thrill of getting in our pool.

Better, but still not there...
Came new, as advertised; had all the parts in the box undamaged. I was hoping this would be a safer, more sturdy option for our Intex 18'x48" metal frame pool. It is NOT designed to work with this type of pool, however, I figured anything should be better than the cheap, flimsy metal ladder that came with the pool. It is fairly sturdy, and clean and nice(r) looking. Assembly was a breeze! However...since it is designed to work for pools 48"-54" it is much taller than the cheap, metal one. When someone is on the top platform, transitioning between the pool side and yard side seems to be easily top- heavy. That being said, the platform is great for kids to sit on. The steps and platform are much wider and more sturdy, but still do show some dip/sag when an adult steps on them. After 2 seasons with this ladder-it seems to be part of the green water/algae issue. I was fighting with a green pool for weeks (2 seasons in a row) finally after reading others comments, pulled the ladder and then treated and within days, pool was clearing up (with appropriate chemicals). I'm convinced the water in the ladder is not sealed 100% and there is no way to treat/clear it all up with it lingering in the ladder. Will not be going this route again! I installed the side braces (intended for a metal frame, above ground, permanent-style pool, not this style) to help stabilize it a bit, thinking about using ratchet straps to each side as well to apply additional down force just to be a bit safer. Overall-it is a decent ladder for the $$, still not as rigid as I was hoping it would be though. IF we had a 54" pool, this would be a much better fit.

LADDER THAT NEVER FAILS
The ladder is very easy to assemble & you do need to be patient putting it together because if you don't follow the steps or instructions you will not be successful at putting it together. It took me two evening's to completely finish the task by myself. It's very heavy to lift & place into the pool you'll need assistance. The Deck is perfect, I love the width & rails, my Grandchildren love doing cannon balls off it. I feel very safe with the security it provides when I close the secure gate & lock it. This is a very wonderful pool ladder worth the price!
