The Camino Ingles: 6 days to Santiago

Disappointing
While the enthusiasm of the author is never in doubt, this book, despite containing some useful information and updates about each stage of the Camino Ingles, was for me a frustrating and disappointing read. Repetitive and littered with grammatical errors and unimaginative descriptions, it is less of a walking guide, and more of an amalgamation of notes scribbled at the end of each day over a few glasses of Rioja. At 139 pages it left me wanting so much more, and, by the way, that figure of 139 includes, for some inexplicable reason, two blank pages at the end of each chapter. I can only assume this was to flesh out what is quite a thin book. Maybe it will convince some that the Camino Ingles is an achievable goal, but this is not a book for seasoned walkers who are seeking a practical guide to refer to before and during their pilgrimage.

Useful & enjoyable
I'm so glad I found this book. The Camino bug has bitten me during the last couple of weeks and won't let me go! Firstly I was randomly sent a CD from my sister who knew I was interested in walking and enjoyed a challenge. After watching it I got a book on kindle about the Camino Francaise . As I plodded through the 500 Km of it fascinated, low and behold a TV series begins about the pilgrimage. The next day I heard that my next-door neighbour and his mates were doing the Camino next month !!! All this within 2 weeks......I was getting a message but couldn't imagine how I could be away from home for so long. Then this book came to my rescue. A Camino on 6 days !!!! A very informative read and I will buy the hard copy to take with me on my pilgrimage full of confidence. All my questions, queries and problems solved and answered.

THE definitive guide to the Camino Ingles
SPOTLIGHT ON:THE CAMINO INGLESBY SUSAN JAGANNATHWow! What a gift for anyone contemplating the Camino Ingles. Particularly if it’s your first camino.Whatever the case though, if you’re walking it, this book will serve you incredibly well. It’s absolutely packed full of supremely helpfully information. No ‘filler content’, it’s all massively informative stuff. For every stage of your journey; planning what to take with you, and how to prepare yourself practically, physically, emotionally and even spiritually.Basically you can’t afford not to get this book if you’re walking it!And so much of the advice so generously shared applies to all caminos, not just the ingles. It’s extremely well written, with such depth and clarity.Food, shops, restaurants, bars, guidance apps, shortcuts, alternative deviations, accommodation, even basic Spanish, kit, packing lists, mindset, important sites along the way, and prayers & contemplations to nourish the soul, it’s all here. Susan has left absolutely nothing out.I absolutely love the inspirational quotes from such luminaries as Winnie the Pooh, Lewis Carrol and Tolkien. Just delightful.SO much work, thought, love and dedication has gone into making this book the absolute definitive guide to both this particular Camino and the Camino experience in general.I’m massively impressed! ❤️💫

I enjoyed this book very much
I enjoyed this book very much, especially since I walked (most of) the route last year. There's plenty of sound practical advice and terrific enthusiasm for what I too found a memorable experience. I was interested by the author's comment that the published distances for the various stages tend to be shorter than the distances she recorded along the Way. Although I didn't attempt to measure anything myself I think she is probably right about that. I wish I had allowed six days for my trip like the author. I tried to do it in five days with accommodation booked in advance and found I needed to miss out 17km in the middle by taking a taxi, which was a pity.I originally bought this book as a Kindle edition but I liked it so much I bought the printed version a few days later. It's beautifully produced and a most welcome addition to my bookshelves.

A good insight.
By the authors own admission, this is a personal account and as such gives a good mix of practical advice and real life experience. I found it to be an engaging read that filled in a few gaps I had from reading many other books on this topic.

A fabulous little book practical from beginning to end it also made you feel part of this wonderful journey. As others have said this is a book you would want with you on your own Camino full of useful information of what to pack, where to eat, where to stay and even advice on getting your luggage sent on to the next stopover. Susan is a very informative writer it actually made me want to pack immediately and get going. Thank you for this lovely little book
