Adjust-A-Gate Full Frame Gate Fence Kit, Hardware for Openings 60"-96", Heights Over 6'

Super easy to assemble. Works great on both my 5’ and 6’ fences. Had to use different screws for the latch and hinges due to my fence being in-line using a 2x2 attached to a steel post instead of a 4x4 wood post. Not a big deal at all though. I could not be happier with the result!

Easy enough to install. Holds a ~6'wx4'l foot fence in proper form on a slope. Crossing my fingers the investment is worth it. 3-4x as much as other gate kits i looked at. I dont like the included patch. Mine doesn't open well. Have to change out the mounting screws foe lower profile heads I believe so it stops hitting them.

This item is great and actually arrived the next day for me. The instructions are crap.Things to note:1. It says "2x4 or 2x6". No. You need to use 2x4's for the top and bottom rail. You can use whatever you want for the fence face.2. The adjustment cable needs to go from the TOP on the HINGE side to the BOTTOM on the latch side. The holes are drilled so that you can't do it backwards, but if you mess up and put the left and right sides on backwards, you're out of luck. There aren't any markings for this or instructions for this, so you have a 50% chance of doing it wrong if you don't look first. This is important, because the gate will sag over time, the cable keeps it from doing that. I just drilled a new hole rather than take the entire thing back apart.3. The cable tensioner comes already tightened down. Back it out before attaching it to give yourself maximum travel over time.4. Good luck actually getting it to 60" wide. 55 is more accurate. Thankfully my neighbor had bought the next size up and hadn't needed the extra inserts.5. Height is not limited to 45 inches, that's how high the frame is. My fence is 6 feet tall. (would be taller but code won't allow it.)6. This thing gets HEAVY. Just know that in advance. It's a great way to install a nice, heavy fence because the hardware can support it. I've got pressure treated 2x4's for upper and lower frame, and then pressure treated 1x6's on narrow, 1/8" spacings across a 62" span, 6 feet tall. That's a lot of weight, and this handles it just fine.7. You will need a 1/2 bit to drill the holes for the hinges, and even then you'll need to man up to screw them in.I did not use the latch it came with, I purchased a decorative one. I can't comment on that.

I buy products on Amazon just about every day but this is my first review. I feel compelled to write about this product. I finished installing these gates today and I am in love. I bought three of them: 2 for a double and a single. The price is high but it's worth every penny in my opinion. 1. The gate is lightweight, hollow aluminum without losing strength. It looks like gym equipment material. I have helped install a custom fabricated metal gate and they are heavy which makes the whole thing just that more cumbersome to work with but also increases sag. The adjust a gate system is easy to work with and I installed the whole thing solo. 2. Flexible - this is the real power of this gate. I had to have my gates to a precise width and height. I had a top rail cap on my fence and I wanted the gate to match the fence; therefore I had to be precise. If I had something fabricated instead of this product and my measurements were off by a hair:; it would all be a waste. This gate served this purpose beautifully. 3. Comes with everything you need. I read online that the hardware (screws , wire support, latch) were bad. I was shocked when I felt the screws, latch etc. and determined this to be of great quality for a kit. I do wish they had a few extra metal screws because I used a lot for my latch system and ran out. 4. Packaged well - my 3 were all in white boxes packages in a brown cardboard box. All items were there. 5. Hinges are installed on the inside of your posts. Take a second to understand what that means because I didn't /wouldn't. This is beneficial because gravity keeps the gates on the hinge bolts and you can lift the entire gate if you need to for replacement or to get a large vehicle in or whatever. This type of hinges also are very strong and swing very well and quietly compared to other types. The hinges are recommended to be installed on the back 1" of the posts and open in. I didn't do that on my double gate because I used 6x6 posts and wanted the pickets to line up from fence to gate. My double gate will therefore not open all the way which is not a big deal for me as I absolutely wanted the front of the pickets to line up.Things to note: 1. Instructions could go in a little greater detail in a few areas. 2. Make sure you have a 1/2" spade bit for the hinges. You will need to go pretty far into the post with the spade bit for the hinges. For a 4x4 post, you go just short of going through the whole post. 3. If you want a professional looking gate that is lightweight, strong, and most of all flexible so that you can adjust not only for sag but for building it; I recommend this gate. 5 stars

The task was to add a 3-ft tall weird width and limited attachment means to a passageway off my elevated deck. Dog retention was the goal. Finding this kit was the best part of the task. Complete hardware for a huge variety of applications. Instructions were sufficient for one handy with wood and tools. A bit tougher for neophytes, however. Trickiest part was designing a latch landing where I had no easy or normal type of fence structure. The finish on the kit is very hardy and I used top grade spray on the cut and filed edges of the trimmed horizontal adjustable tubes. Attaching the wood to match the existing fence was well-designed and sturdy. The hardy hinges and positioning is a substantial breeze. Major value!

This is an excellent choice for a DIY gate project! Its adjustability and ease of installation make it a valuable investment. I'm extremely pleased with the results and highly recommend it. However, when I purchased it, the dimensions were unclear, so I've included pictures to assist others in determining the dimensions. It's worth noting that, like some other reviews have mentioned, the post hinges on my item were not perfectly straight. I had to bend them straight before install them.

I used this kit for a 7' long gate. Very easy to put together and seems sturdy. The problem is that because of the wieght of the gate IT WILL SAG. The cable will do nothing for this because it is due to the POST. My post is solid but will still have some flex in it. Maybe if I used a 6x6 instead of 4x4 it would not flex. I fixed this with a gate wheel and it works perfectly now.

I like these ones better then the box store kits you can buy. Used these gates a few times already and they work like a champ. Easy to assemble and nice and sturdy when all done.

The media could not be loaded.  We needed an extra wide gate for our side yard (8ft wide) and this gate kit is perfect. It was easy to install.My partner is pretty handy and he had the entire gate up in one afternoon (took a few hours with interruptions) and was very manageable for one person. It's very sturdy and the latching mechanism is great. Easy to follow instructions and everything is included except the wood. Literally one of our easiest and smoothest DIY projects as we DIY our home.I was anxious about ordering it and not having the typical Amazon return policy (as well as losing money on shipping) but I'm so glad we took a chance!Not sure if you can see it in the video, but there's a gap along the bottom of the gate due to our ground not being level, definitely not anything to do with the gate kit. This was an A+ purchase for us.

Solid gate, had to to do some modifications, like indenting the end planks to sit flat on the hardware. I also bought the wrong size, thought the sizes where for the height of the gate not the width, so I had to cut the tubes down for a 3 ft opening. I’m happy how it turned out and looks good, the black metal frame is nice.

Very good gate frame. Unique and well thought out design. Creates a very strong sturdy gate. Instructions straight forward. Construction well built. Once you see how it’s going together it makes so much sense. Unlike other reviews I had no issue with lumber size, hinges, or other hardware. It’s a good kit. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. The only issue I had was the screws which were provided. They are made from softer metal and with a Phillips head. They strip out easily. I threw them away and used my own screws with a Robertson head. Stronger and no stripping. It’s a minor issue but don’t use their hardware.

This is the second gate I have installed and could not be happier with the product. This gate is spanning a seven foot opening with a six foot tall fence. Works smoothly and no sag at all. Kit was complete well labeled and came with all required parts.
