Does a good job
I used this for converting old music festival tapes to MP3. The originals were done on portable cassette recorders, so the fidelity wasn't great, so I don't know how this device would behave on better source material. But for my purposes, it worked great and the final sound quality equaled the source. Really easy to use (though the instructions weren't great), and a great value.

added odd files to flashdrive, poor quality recording
I purchased this for the aux input to flashdrive conversion capability. It is easy to use, but the quality of the recording is not that great. If you use it in manual mode, there is a clicking noise in the recorded MP3 file that sounds similiar to the sound the old tape drives would make if you got really close to it while in use. In both auto and manual modes there is a small amount of tape hiss added to the recording. The auto detect of space between songs does not work very well, sometimes adding a minute or more of no music to a recording in the MP3 file. And after recording 6 discs through the aux input, it really went fubar, wiped out previous music on the flashdrive, and put some really odd files onto the flashdrive, stuff my computor can't open. When I look at the flashdrive from my computers file manager, there are files with strange symbols. Hopefully not a virus.

Transfers tape recordings to flash drive easily
I bought this Walkman-style handheld cassette player to transfer old music files I had lying around losing fidelity in storage on tapes. The transfer to USB flash drive is easy and the unit converts quickly to MP3 files, which I then uploaded to my hard drive. The cassette player door is made of very thin plastic and could easily be damaged. It does not have super high fidelity sound, but I didn't expect that for the price point. The buttons are a bit clunky and the headphone jack is tight and does not allow the plug to be fully inserted. Overall, it is decent for what I needed it for--an inexpensive way to salvage my old analog tape recordings and convert them into digital music files.

Trash
I disliked the fact that I used it one time in a little over a year and it stopped working. Being it's a good brand it sure doesn't have the name brand quality.

Very Satisfied
I have only had this unit for about a week but...It works!I have been converting old cassette tapes of Church services. I am easily able to record the music parts, pause recording and allow the tape to play through the spoken parts, and resume taping when the music begins again. I wanted a device where I could do this manually. I prefer not to use the automatic feature for my purposes. The sound quality is decent, especially if played back in the car (everything sounds better in the car) or through a good-quality speaker. And of course, the sound quality depends on the quality of the original recording.I find that there is some distortion or clicking if the unit is placed on a hard surface- I have been sitting at a countertop to do my recording. This problem is significantly reduced if I hold the unit in my hand or place it on a soft surface, such as a towel.I am quite satisfied with this purchase.

This product is not what it is advertised
The product appears to be very easy to use. It plays tapes well, but the conversion to MP3's simply doesn't work. I have spent several hours. The flashing light, the buttons, the mechanics all work...but with no result. Very disappointing. There is no way to get in contact with the company to get information.

Poor Instructions Poor Quality
The instructions are not clear and even the manual on the internet does not give clear instructions. The bottons that instruct you how to record are dark snd it is hard to figure out how to accomplish the task of converting. The product is cheap and the sound is not good. You counld only hear sound on one side of the headset. I used different headset but realized it is the converter. I guess if I want better quality I will have to pay more. I am considering sending it back. If it weren't for You tube I would still be trying to figure out the mechanism. I hade to play with different size USB flash drive. It gives you the impression the Pyle gizmo is not working. Too flimsy.

So so bad
This thing is certainly a pile, if not a Pyle. Having USA in the name, I naively thought that this was a quality product, but reading the instructions written in very broken English quickly removed any hope. This is definitely an electronic device of the lowest quality I have ever had the displeasure of using; they're not even trying anymore. Where to begin...The unit I received had clearly been returned before, maybe it was defective and the main reason I had so much trouble, but in any case, it was decided by whomever that it was good enough to sell to someone else. The thing feels super flimsy with the thinnest plastic I thought would snap if not handled it with utmost care. As far as the actual intended function of it for which you are buying it, it barely works. Must have been designed by an intern with zero oversight or quality control. Even in the instructions it is mentioned that if the device fails to properly start recording, the attached USB drive (where the MP3s are saved) must be removed and reinserted. Off the bat there is no consistency and the entire process is at the mercy of a chance. I got it to kind of work after trying several different USB drives, a few attempts and restarts (it stopped recording for no reason at one point in the manual mode, which shouldn't happen), and had to piece together the final recording from several MP3s as I didn't dare restart the entire process. My precious tape got chewed up at one point, but thankfully without ripping or knots. Oh, and on top of all this, there is a big warning in the manual informing me that this device can expose me to chemicals known in the state of California to cause cancer and birth defects. As if it couldn't get any worse....Definitely not keeping it, I doubt it would even turn on the next time I needed it. We need to stop paying for this garbage so that maybe they'll start investing in quality control.

This machine has failed to produce a single usable recording, and the seller refuses to offer a replacement or a refund. Definitely do not deal with this company.
