Great for a couple months but then isn't working properly
We really loved this at first. It worked perfectly for about 1.5 months. Then the grinder started jamming and we had to take it apart to make it work. Now the grinder jams every week, for no apparent reasons and we have had to do a request to return and receive a refund.

Amazing!
Works like a professional machine-it’s so quiet you don’t wake up anyone in the am! Built tough with no crappy plastic Can’t say enough about it-it’s amazing and worth the cost Also learned to get espresso beans that aren’t oily-(no glossy look) just mat bean It won’t clog your grinder up!

Pulls a nice shot of espresso and steams milk well
This espresso machine is great for home use. I find that the grinder is very quiet, the steam wand is powerful and does a great job. The machine pulls a nice shot of espresso. There are some nice ways to adjust the machine to get that sweet, velvety shot of espresso without being too complicated for a novice. Also, the matte finish cleans up perfectly and does not show finger prints.

Customer service is amazing!
First machine leaked but the manufacturer worked with me quickly to resolve. When this didn’t work they quickly sent me a new machine. I had new machine in 2 days with 2 weeks to return the damaged machine. So far so good! Machine works great.

Can be problematic
I’ve had this machine for about 8 months and this is my experience. In researching I had read the reviews about the leaky water tank and purchased the machine anyway so when i received it I was not surprised the water tank leaked. I contacted KitchenAid and they were aware of the issue and sent a replacement tank which now works fine. It wasn’t until recently that i realized that no matter what beans or grind size I use the grinder spits all over the counter. I had read a few reviews about this and thought it was due to the difference in beans or not cleaning the surrounding area but I read a review that mentioned the machine was sent back to repair the ionizer. The technology that is used to keeps the grinds from spitting seems to have stopped working. To fix this I bought a dosing funnel but it’s no match for the mess it makes. I also haven’t been able to pull a decent shot of espresso in a while. It’s as if something changed within the machine but I can’t figure it out. I did contact KitchenAid again and the person I spoke with was not familiar with the product and had no idea how to help. It was suggested that I wet the beans which is the answer found on Google. Not very helpful. I did keep the box with all the packaging and purchased the Amazon extended warranty for potential issues but I will be going through the manufacturer first. My initial thoughts were that after working in a coffee shop decades ago I wanted the nostalgia of an espresso machine but don’t remember ever having to think so much about pulling a shot. If things don’t work out I would opt for an espresso machine without the grinder. I’m good with stale coffee grounds at this point. Hope this helps!
