So bug zappers will kill many types of insects who fly into the danger zone and touch the charged metal panels. But they have to make the choice to fly into the danger zone. Some bugs are so attracted to the UV light that they will just blindly follow to their demise. Mosquitos... not so much. That is where these come in handy. These produce a smell that mimmicks the scent that humans produce that mosquitos are attracted to. And it works. I have a bug zapper, and with these traps it makes them much more effective. Easy to use, good value as I get more use of my yard without risk of more bites. Another great tool.

I have used various versions of these octenol based lures for mosquitos. This specific product seems to match all of the others I have used in the past. I generally use these in combination with a Dynatrap setup. To be honest, I really do not know if these attract the mosquitos or if the light on the Dynatrap is the main driver. However, we do seem to catch a lot of mosquitos each year, so I continue to use the lure. Generally, I find these lures last a little longer than advertised (at least I only change them twice a season). They do seem a little expensive. They seem to be priced near equivalent to the big box stores. I generally expect a lower cost from Amazon for products from China. The price might drop as the season goes along.

These lures make my DynaTraps even more effective against mosquitos. We just stick them on the side and once the mosquitos get close enough, the traps suck them in. So far, they are working well for the season. We've had a lot of rain and in our rural area, there are ponds and puddles everywhere for mosquito breeding. But we aren't being overrun yet. I am happy with their functionality. With this 4 pack I should make it through the season.

So we have an invasion of mosquitoes. The little buggers are relentless and I think I heard them laughing at the citronella candles and off spray. This stuff however, while rather nasty smelling to humans, appears to be extremely effective at drawing those little blood goblins directly to my bug zapper. If you don't know howany mosquito are in about half a pound, it's a lot, like disturbing amounts. These lures are extremely effective and work exactly as intended.

I haven't had the opportunity to test these yet, as we haven't hit mosquito season yet, but I'm impressed with the packaging. Each lure has the usual foil layer, but these also come individually sealed in their own little plastic bag, too. I've previously used a brand that you can only buy one lure at a time, so I don't know if this is the usual for multi-packs, but I appreciate the extra effort to make sure they aren't already useless before you ever open them. Price-wise, they're cheaper than my previous brand. I do have to wonder about the percentage of octenol listed. My previous, name brand, contained only 6.3% where this claims 69.9%. I have a feeling the decimal point is off a space, but even then it would still be a higher octenol content, though only slightly. It won't be long until the tiny vampires return, so I will try to remember to come back and update at how well these work.

Add these to a dynatrap to boost the mosquito control capability as these increase the attractiveness of the trap. These were cheaper than my local hardware store, and seem to be working equivalently. two thumbs up!
