Great intro textbook for middle school and lower high school students
This textbook does an excellent job in covering the really essential concepts in environmental science. The vocabulary is there, but kept at a level that is appropriate and manageable for students grades 7-9. Good graphics and a concise reading sections try to keep the students' interest as much as possible. Any environmental science instructors in the upper high school levels will find it necessary to find a lot of supplemental material to reach a level appropriate and interesting for those students. This would be a poor choice for any honors level course, regardless of grade level. The detail and presentation is likely to seem superficial to students looking for more comprehensive coverage.

Poorly written and superficial
This book is poorly written and provides a very superficial look at environmental science. It is more superficial than a book I have that is intended for middle school, whereas this book purports to be for high school.
