Great Grip and Edge!
Edge Size: Over 3.5 inches (length of cutting edge)Blade Size: Just under 4 inches (from edge of handle to point)Weight of Knife: Just under 2.7 ouncesWeight of Knife + Sheath: Just under 5 ouncesI’ve ordered a handful of knives from Amazon at this point and the quality and edge of the knife can range from meh to top of the line depending on the brand. I have become much pickier in what I order and decided to give this Kizer Kwaiken a try. It is my first Kizer knife, and I am not disappointed. Here is why.Full tangGood balanceLightweightGreat edgeGood tension in sheathIngenuitive sheath belt clipGreat non slip gripGood giftable presentationIt comes in a reasonably, but not overly nice box. With the nice presentation, I was a little surprised to not find a Kizer sticker inside. The only negatives I can find are more related to the sheath than the knife itself. The sheath belt clip makes the sheath very bulky. The clip is held in by two screws and I’m debating on taking it off and tossing it in a junk drawer. Then when I inevitably change my mind and decide I do want to wear it on my belt, I’ll likely never be able to find it again.Additionally there was a tension screw on the sheath that was so loose it was nearly coming off upon unboxing. I was able to tighten it up with just my fingers. Soon I’ll take a screwdriver and some blue loctite to it to ensure it doesn’t come loose again.Overall I was quite impressed with this Chinese crafted knife. It exceeded my expectations and put the brand on my radar for quality knives at a reasonable price.Unrelated to the product itself, I ordered this in the morning and it was delivered by evening. Kudos to Amazon for the crazy fast shipping!

Very nice full tang knife, deceivingly sharp edge
This kwaiken style knife from Kizer is a solid choice for a variety of applications, and is very well made. The hardness of the D2 steel (high-carbon, high-chromium) lends to very good edge retention and hardness. This composition/hardness tends to make the blade a little more challenging to sharpen, but I would much rather take the extra time to sharpen a blade knowing that I will have to sharpen it less often than a softer steel blade. Right out of the box the blade on this knife is quite sharp. As far as the handle, I do like the G10 (garolite) material used, and I own a couple other knives that utilize this handle material. It is durable, and if it given the right texture it can be quite grippy. This knife is no different. It feels secure in my hands, though it is a rather narrow handle, and I feel as though it may cause fatigue when used for extended periods. I suppose someone with smaller hands might find it to be comfortable for EDC use. I have found that it is an excellent shape and size for meal prepping while camping, so it will likely stay with my cooking gear. The kydex sheath is a nice addition, though a bit bulky. You can adjust the belt clip to accommodate different sized belts, but bear in mind that the widest it can be adjusted is 1-5/16" or 34mm. Anything wider will not fit.The quality of the materials used and the attention to detail with this knife are quite nice, so if you are looking for a kwaiken style knife at a good price you can't go wrong with Kizer. I look forward to exploring their other knife offerings in the future.

Nice neck or utility knife
I'm digging the Kizer Kwaiken. It's hard to beat D2 and G10 for toughness and durability. They make a great combination. The G10 scales are incredibly grippy. They're like a cat's tongue or a shark's skin. The knife's sheath is secure and offers many carry methods. I have a length of paracord wrapped around the sheath so I can quickly turn it into a neck knife. The included belt/webbing clip is nice but bulky and complicated. One day when I feel motivated I'll make a simple fold over belt clip out of a scrap of Kydex to simplify things and cut down on the bulk. The Kwaiken is a super cool knife that will make many journeys with me when I leave the beaten path.

Solid, functional, and usable.
Interesting option for an everyday carry (where legal, of course), this knife is relatively small and lightweight, though as a non-folder, those nearly 8" of total length are noticeable when worn, especially with the included sheath/holder. The blade is a flat grind, sharp, with a great pointed tip. Comes with a black protective coating, and is ready to work. The textured handle and jimping make for an easy grip with either hand, and the orange color mine came in will make it difficult to lose if dropped in the grass, though it will also make it hard for you to wear without drawing attention. As a leftie, I was pleased that the holder could be adjusted simply to suit my preferred loading, but it is rather bulky and not the best quality in my view. In adjusting the fit for my belt width (the standard size is rather narrow) I accidentally broke off a plastic guide that I could have popped off with a little more patience, but the mechanism still holds. The result is a knife more suitable for camping/hunting trips than discreet carry around the urban jungle or office but there's plenty of after market options if you want a less bulky sheath.Best test of a knife is through use over time but so far this seems robust, well-put together, and most important of all, comfortable in the hand. I've other Kizer knives and have found them to be solid tools so expect similar quality here. I leave it lying around the house for routine cutting and would pack it in toolbox or car for trips where a handy, reliably sharp edge can always prove useful. At the price, the knife seems an excellent value, consider the sheath a freebie.
