QEP 22400Q 3/5 HP Torque Master Tile Saw, 4-Inch,Black/Yellow

It worked a lot better than I thought. But let’s be honest, for the price it’s totally worth it. I intend to give it away after my project. It worked surprisingly well. I’m not a contractor and needed a tile saw for a home project with stacked stone veneer. Not too sure if the accuracy of the saw but I didn’t need it perfect, just something fast to cut the stone and it worked great.

This was a fantastic product. Once you get it set up, it's easy to use and gets the job done. I was cutting natural stone that was about 1/4 in thick, and I never had a problem. As others have mentioned, the water does get dirtier and dirtier the more you cut, but if you change out the water every so often, no problem! The saw blade that comes with the product is great - no need to buy another blade. I used this wet-saw to cut tile for a kitchen backsplash. I had only intended to use it one time and then throw it out (a great use of $50). However, after using it it's still in great shape. I changed my mind and I'm going to hold onto it in case I need it in the future. I do see how this could be considered "flimsy" or "like a toy" or "cheap" as other reviews have commented. However, these qualities did not effect the usability of this product at all, and it was easy to forget about them once you got started. Is it made from cheap materials - yes. But, if you're expecting something made out of metal (not plastic), and something bigger (not small like this), then you need to go and spend more than $50 somewhere else and buy (or rent) an expensive wet-saw (and for no good reason)! Just get this saw - it's all you need.

I was skeptical from the reviews. I got this because it was cheaper to buy then to rent a saw. I am a beginner and I knew it would take awhile to figure out how to cut everything and such, so I would have needed to rent a wet saw for several days and this worked fine. I used a 12x12 porcelain tile. I will say when cut my bullnose it was a lot easier. So I suggest a light subway or a 4x4 or 6x6 tile is probably ideal for this tile saw. I would not use for a 24x24 like they say you can unless you are desperate and only need to cut one or two. However I did use a 12x12 and it worked fine, it just took longer for the saw to cut through and some times it felt like I was fighting against the 4 inch blade. I had a hard time using the arm that let you cut on an angle, because I needed under 2 1/2 inch triangles. The extender didn't do anything for my large tile because I used the bar to help me cut straight. There is a measure on both sides starting in the middle at 0 and going out to 6 inches. Obviously not helpful for a large tile, so you have to go off of what you need to cut off, not what needs to remain. I read a review that said its great and compact and you can use it on the floor next to your job. I started out doing that, huge mistake, I kept getting the water everywhere and I didn't have good leverage to cut the tiles, it was a pain. Plus the saw moved while I was cutting my tile. I put a folding work bench in the room next to the bathroom and put a bunch of plastic down underneath and put a bucket under the tile saw to catch any water runoff from the tile and that was manageable. It wasn't the best but it made it easier then going out to the garage or down the basement or somewhere else. Finally the biggest put off for this was the hole in the bottom of the saw. I understand its so you don't put too much in, but it made it very difficult to pick up and dump when needing to change the water. When the water becomes clay like you'll notice that the amount of water that is coming out of the blade area is low or nonexistent so I had to scrape out the clay clumps and fill up again.

I only had a few tiles to cut and was just going to rent a tile cutter; however, it was going to cost more to rent one for 4 hours than to purchase this one. I used to have an expensive tile cutter, but gave it away several years ago. This little tile cutter is comparable to the expensive one as far as cutting accuracy and speed. Reviews said that it vibrates because it's a light weight plastic case. This is true; however, I just clamped down two kitty-corner ends and problem solved. Reviews also said that it cuts very slowly. Didn't find that to be the case with my standard bathrrom sized (i.e., thickness of about 1/4 - 3/8") tiles. The saw buzzed right through them in seconds without chipping. I'll be using this saw when I tile the backsplash in my kitchen as well. The saw probably wouldn't work well for huge sized floor tiles, but it works great for anything that's about a foot or a little more in length/width.

It is my fault for not opening and assembling this as soon as I purchased it, but as home improvement projects go...they don't always go as planned. Additional work commitments and problems removing the existing tile, one weekend becomes four and you're way behind on your project. This tile saw should be illegal to sell as much as it vibrates. I used the poorly written instructions to put it together, not all the pieces fit and unlike what is mentioned in the Q&A, the glass tile saw available at local hardware stores...doesn't fit this saw. In all honesty, I really believe I received a dud. I didn't contact Amazon and instead contacted QEP as the big red stop sign sticker indicated. They admitted that the vibration was excessive and recommended I return it to the retailer because there was nothing they could/would do. It was an "oh well, hope you can return it because that saw is low quality so good luck" response. I'd had it more than a month before pulling it out of the box so I couldn't return it. Lesson learned: Don't buy these kinds of products off Amazon and don't purchase QEP products. I ended up renting a saw (which I wanted to avoid and is the reason I bought this one because it was less than the rental) and now I'm out of twice as much money and have a useless tool on my garage shelf. You get what you pay for.

This is an all plastic trim saw and I was a bit skeptical when I ordered it after reading some reviews referring to it as a toy.. The first surprise was when it arrived and I picked up the box. It felt heavier than I anticipated. Unpacking the QEP 22400Q made me feel better. It is plastic, but it is very solid and rigid. The only real downside to getting the saw up an working was installing the blade. You must first remove a flimsy splash shield. Removing the shield is no problem, putting it back is a royal pain using the tiny #4 Philips screw. The water reservoir is quite shallow and if overfilled water pours out the end and onto the table and floor. Using it as a trim saw, the fence is placed close to the saw blade and there are no concerns about the fence flexing . The QEP 22400Q is truly an inexpensive trim saw for the hobbyist maker of thin sections of rocks, minerals and fossils. The saw easily cuts 4mm - 7mm slices of stone, marble, fossil matrix and miscellaneous rocks. A small specimen size works best, but 35mm thick pieces can bu cut using two cuts. If you need to trim thicker slabs the QEP 22700Q nay be a better purchase, The included blade cut marble and quartz with ease. A tad messy, but manageable. Probably best used in a garage, outdoors or in a basement that is easily mopped up. Nowhere near as messy as the old style 6" wet saws. I have no idea how the QEP 2400Q cuts tiles, but it does a nice job on small rocks and stuff.

Works quite well for thinner tiles. Water spray is tolerable, but would be nice if the measurement guides were gridded across the table portion rather than only at the front and back which has too much play when tightening the guide. Wish the table portion that you lift to add water (or cut angles) was removable to allow for easier clean up. Good for price though.
