This filing cabinet was just what I wanted. Love the mission style look. It is very well made and sturdy. Drawers glide smoothly. Assembly was easy, but took over an hour to complete.

Searched for what’s seems like forever for a filing cabinet that didn’t look like a filing cabinet and that matched my bedroom furniture. Never thought I’d find exactly what I was looking for on Amazon but I did!!! I LOVE this cabinet! We use this in our bedroom as a tv stand and it houses all of our paperwork with room to grow (only using one drawer right now). It matches my wood bed frame and side tables perfectly and looks like an expensive dresser, no one who’s visited knows that it’s a filing cabinet!! Finally, all that paper clutter out of sight but easily accessible if needed. Don’t know how I lived without this for so long! It was easy to assemble - my husband did it, so it was really easy for me ;) LOL. I would definitely buy again if I ever need another one

I am going to give you all a Pro-Cons list... But I am going to start with the cons first because they should be known. Cons -This took me about 2 days to assemble, the instructions are so hard to interpret, and I say interpret instead of read because they are that hard to understand. So the first day I just decided to stop because my temper was getting the best of me and my boyfriend who was helping. -The drawers get stuck sometimes and you literally have to yank them out -The drawers come off the track system often so if you have alot of files to put in this then be ready for someone to help you put the track system back on with you so a heavy drawer doesn't crash onto the floor... or your toe... -The actual material for the drawers are way too heavy for the cheap track system so if you have both drawers open and you maybe have half a drawer full of files it might all flip over. -Very heavy, even for two adults who are not weak people, there was a lot of huffing, puffing and quite a bit of frustration. -Very hard to get files actually in this thing because the metal brackets sit too far back so you kind of have to bend the folders to get them in there. Pros -I actually got this filing cabinet because it matches my head board, and my coffee table, styling wise its very attractive -It's more attractive to look at than a metal filing cabinet... would that have been much easier to assemble and actually work 100% of the time?..... Yes... Overall this thing is finally assembled and its at my house and its here and its staying... but I honestly don't know if its worth it for this thing.. yeah it matches my other stuff, yeah its better looking than a metal filing cabinet and yes I can put pretty frames and little decor on it... but man, this thing will make you so mad and frustrated its crazy.. Would I buy it again? NO. Would I recommend.. I wanna say no, don't waste your time, but if you want a piece of furniture that can actually have a purpose instead of just an accent table, and if you are like me, with a 1 bedroom house and literally no storage, and not really a whole lot of space to have much in the house as it is, it works for me. If I could have bought this pre assembled I would have!

It is very heavy - recommend assembly before moving (as you can move the frame and drawers separately); VERY heavy in the box! Beautiful piece of furniture in the home - does not look like a file cabinet - yet has plenty of space for hanging files and hanging rails adjust for different sizes. The locks to ensure only one drawer at a time can open were wonky and awkward but I just took that out and it’s fine. Love that you can adjust drawer angle fairly easily (so they can close properly) without removing the rail entirely - that is a very nice feature! Overall a very nice sturdy attractive piece of furniture!

I've had the Carson Forge Lateral File for six months now and I'm very pleased with it. The style is exactly what I was looking for and so far it seems sturdy and does the job. It took some time to put together and was a little tricky at a few steps, but I more or less expected that for this kind of furniture. I did run into a problem getting one of the drawers in correctly and one of the slide rails basically came apart in the process. At first I was quite annoyed, but I called Sauder and couldn't have been happier with the outcome. I reached a real person very quickly and they couldn't have been more helpful or courteous. I was sent all the replacement parts I needed, as well as some extra pieces just in case. There was no charge whatsoever for the parts or shipping, which arrived very quickly. I was able to finish putting the drawer together with the new parts and I'm very satisfied. Kudos to Sauder for their excellent customer service.

Where to start...directions are good until you get to drawers. Flimsy.. I ended up trashing. Also came in damaged, but didn’t notice until it was almost assembled. Virtually impossible to assemble by yourself. Poorly labeled parts. Total waste of money.

The perfect file cabinet, very easy to assemble. Just follow the included instruction manual.

Seems cheap, difficulty with one drawer. Bearings fell out on one of the drawer slides, was able to pop them back in. Top Drawer won't close tight, so now I have take it apart to figure out why. We We purchased the same brand in a desk and printer stand they work perfectly.

Could use 2 extra pins on back panels to assist in keeping it straighter during assembly.

This cabinet was easy to assemble, and instructions were very clear. It is sturdy, and looks very classy. Love the color.

The lateral file cabinet is an attractive piece of furniture. However, the screws that hold the handles on are too short, and the handles have come loose. We have had to replace with longer screws and hope this solves the problem.
