Uchida 522-C-1 Marvy Fine Point Fabric Marker, Black

I use this on my quilt projects when I'm done & it writes nice & clear, no feathering! Nice fine tip! Not sure about washing durability or fading yet!

Been looking for a fabric pen for use on my quilt labels. This one really is a fine point and excellent quality

After six years, the fabric marker I used to record my grandchildren’s progress on the growth charts I made had run out of ink. Locally, the two major craft stores had nothing similar with a finer point and, because my daughter had discarded the old pen, I could not determine the brand. A search on Amazon returned the “Uchida 522-C-1 Marvy Fine Point Fabric Marker, Black” and I purchased it. I found the “fine” point on the marker is not as fine as I had hoped. The growth charts are made of a poly-cotton blend and are about a 300 thread-count. Prior to crafting the growth charts, I did not wash the fabric. Although the point of the “Uchida 522-C-1 Marvy Fine Point Fabric Marker, Black” was not as fine as desired, I learned that drawing or printing with a light-hand and moving the pen rapidly would produce, for my purpose, the correct thickness of line. Any hesitation or pressure resulted in a blotch or a thicker line than I desired. I also found that the marker would smear if I moved the ruler/straight-edge immediately after drawing a line. A strip of painter’s tape or masking tape used as a protective shield and placed flush with the desired location of the line prevented smearing when I moved the ruler. With some adjustment on my part, the “Uchida 522-C-1 Marvy Fine Point Fabric Marker, Black” will serve my purpose. I would have preferred an extra-fine or ultra-fine point. However, I was unable to locate that style of fabric marker. I am giving the Uchida 522-C-1 fabric marker four stars because it is better than average, but is not exactly what I wanted.

These worked great for a quilt project I did. I tested a fabric square and washed it and the ink stayed crisp. The markers were reasonably easy to write with and the tips are fine enough for detailed work. These are a nice, true black. Would definitely buy again if I needed them.

I bought two markers, the tip fell off of one of them, but the other one worked as intended. Used it to color the stitching on my seats in the car. Worked like a charm.

Perfect for my leather purse rehab project!

I have had a hard time finding a pen to use when making quilt labels. The pens are either too thick, too thin, and they just don't look nice! I decided to try this one and am so glad I did! I made the label with 100% cotton fabric. The pen easily wrote the letters. There was NO bleeding. The letters were NOT fuzzy! Just clear black lettering that is easy to read. THANK YOU! I will be ordering this again!

I got this to write kid names in clothes, bags, masks, lanyards for school. It is perfect. Has lasted through multiple washes so far in socks, underwear, masks, etc. Would be awesome for drawing on fabric too.

I have used it on a few shirts now, and it works so well you can’t see the stains anymore. My husband got chlorine on his shirt. It took a few tries/coats, but it ended up working.
