Special Needs Communication Cards for Non Verbal Children and Adults with Autism, Speech Delay Visual aid

These communication cards are handy, durable and waterproof. The size is perfect for what we needed (3"x 3"). I ordered these to be used by a young adult with severe autism. When he tried to destroy one of them when he was grumpy, it was not ruined... it came away with only a few slight bends, still in surprisingly good shape (wow!) and still perfectly useable. So I consider these quite durable!The set has a hinged, metal ring with a kind of latch opening for the cards. It is not too difficult to open, so that may be a consideration for a buyer. Also, stronger, fidgety hands could break it, but that depends on the person, really.The cards include what we needed: hungry, thirsty, toilet, I'm hot, I'm cold, I need a break, I'm tired, change diaper (it actually says nappy... so, British diaper. Cute!), music, tv, I feel sick, I feel dizzy, trouble breathing, and many others with appropriate and easy to understand pictures. It's a good, useful group of pecs cards.There are several cards that would be particularly great for someone in a hospital. The only one I don't especially like is the picture for "medicine" as it is of several pink pills on a grayish rectangle pan which just doesn't look that much like medicine to me. But I explained what it was and it is working out for us.The fact that these have a separate picture on each side is helpful to get more words with fewer cards on the ring. It's great to have as many choices as possible. I'm satisfied with the quality and functionability of this pecs set and I recommend it!!!!

My son just got diagnosed with level 3 autism and is nonverbal right now, so i bought these cards for him to try to help him learn how to communicate with me with them. Its so handy to have them on the ring because I can bring them every where we go. I did grab additional rings so I can separate them based on the content of the cards like for the bathroom, kitchen, getting ready, etc. Im working with his speech therapist and his OT therapist to help implement them.

Exactly as described. The size of each card is perfect in my opinion. Very readable, easy to clean, easy to flip through cards and thick so they do not bend easy.

These are perfect for my autistic students. They are durable and hang on my lanyard. I am able to communicate with my students and their needs with these functional and quality made cards. I love the size, too, as it is perfect on my neck lanyard. I'll be using them each school year.
