This set is very nice. The knives are nice and sharp. My only complaint is they are not as heavy and nice as the 18/10 Mikasa Vintage Bead flatware that I have.

I put these to work right away. So far they have been used with a roasted duck and a beef roast. The fork and carving knife are perfectly sized. Everything has a nice weight and feel. I love that these knives don't have the tacky plastic handles or the fragile wooden handles. These knives can go in the dishwasher. Yippee! The steak knives lack a serrated edge, but they are sharp. The bead pattern is classy while the teardrop handles are easy to hold. The only negative for me is that they don't come in a case of any sort. Even offering a case for them would be nice. If there is a presentation box, someone please let me know. I would definitely buy it. This set would indeed make a nice wedding or anniversary gift.

These knives are a great addition to any kitchen. The ten piece carving set comes with a large carving fork, a large serrated carving knife, and eight serrated steak knives. The steak knives look like butter knives with a sharper point, so be careful if you store these in a drawer where young children can get to them. They are 18/0 stainless steel and all one piece. They all have nice decorative dot pattern on the handles. They have a little weight to them but not so much as to be considered heavy by any means, in my opinion. The knives are sharp, can go in the dishwasher, and never need polishing, all pluses in my book. I recommend this carving set.

Mikasa is a well respected company of fine dinning. This set is very classy. They don't look like your typical black plastic handled steak knives! The vintage bead is a nice classic pattern. The set will go well with our Lenox flatware, which does not have a pattern. I like that these are dishwasher safe, but I recommend hand washing to be on the safe side. The knives don't look different from a regular knife, but they cut very well like you would expect from a steak knife. This set will make a great addition to any dinning room. The placemat in the pictures is from our casual kitchen dinning area. From this you can tell how you can go formal or casual with this set. This set would be a nice wedding gift.

What a beautiful set of knifes from Mikasa. The vintage bead design is lovely. The carving knife and fork worked perfectly in a small turkey we served for dinner a couple nights ago. I can't wait to use it with our big turkey at Thanksgiving. The knifes work through steak, pork, turkey and chicken perfectly. These are solid knives and aren't flimsy, which I was concerned with. I've had some knives which came in sets sort of start falling apart at the base. I recommend this set and I look plan to check Mikasa for some matching pieces to purchase.
