Farnam Flys Off Fly Repellent Ointment 7 Ounces

i have a cow pasture across the street, and with the use of fly traps, many i made myself, i am able to significantly reduce the number of small biological agents what fly in looking for water or the shade of the trees. these musca domestica or the common filth fly will chew (they don't have teeth) on the ears of my dogs and this has prevented that. with screw worm being on the rise with the effective pesticide band by the EPA, (if it works get rid of it), i am not of the opion that this would prevent infection in animals unless you could put this point blank next to a injury and keep it from being rubbed off. call your local county extension agent about that, and the state of texas states that Brevecto, (if i'm spelling that right) which prevents ticks and fleas, ($60 a pop) will also kill larva. so, while this is the right product for my dogs ears, and it works for some other bugs, keep that in mind. i have used this before and get some every 18 months to 2 years as i run out. worth the protection for your dogsl.

Works great at repelling the flies but my dog hates the smell and tries to rub it off also.

It has a low odor. It does help, not perfectly but it helps. With my dogs it doesn't last long on them because they love rolling in the dirt 😅

Be forewarned that this is only a semi-thick liquid, about the consistency of non-Greek yogurt. I use disposable gloves to apply, smearing a small amount over my hands then wiping the Booz Boy down from head to tail. Someone else told me they used a rag to apply it, but I think the gloves are the best solution. It must be effective because the flies leave him alone whenever we use it, but it is pretty oily and does have a more medicinal odor. I’ll keep using it because it clearly works well and keeps the Booze comfy outdoors, but it’s a bummer not being able to love on him when he’s wearing it. Also! Be careful when opening this, it literally spat at me like an Alpaca with a bad attitude as I was pulling the seal off.

Not that any fly repellent is super effective, but this works as well on my horse as the name brand at a portion of the cost. I will definitely continue buying this and saving myself a few bucks.

This product works great for my dogs

First it does repel flies but not 100%. The repelling abilities is satisfactory. My problem is that it stays white and is extremely difficult to wash off the dog! I had been using the horse version that was clear and for some reason I assumed the dog version would be the same. It doesn’t come off even after multiple washings with a shampoo concentrate so now my black dog has a white residue all over her face that I can’t seem to remove. It’s not as noticeable on the brown dog. If you don’t care what your dog looks like and just need a repellent, this is fine but if you don’t want your black dog to have an obvious white residue that won’t wash off, avoid this product. We live on a farm and have farms around us so flies are an issue when the dogs stay outside for any length of time. *Photos are after washing the dog twice in a row with no affect on the ointment.*

This works great for my dogs, especially in the summertime. I haven't had any skin irritation so far

Estoy muy contenta con el producto, no encontraba manera de quitar las moscas de las orejas de mi perro lo tenían ya muy lastimado y desde que le apliqué este producto el problema se erradicó completamente. Huele un poco fuerte pero sin pensarlo lo compraría de nuevo.

Debo admitir que cuando compre el artículo estaba preocupada por que la etiqueta menciona que es un producto tóxico. Pero al momento de leer otras reseñas de cómo aplicar el producto y que ocurrió cuando lo aplicaron, fue lo que me animo a usarlo. Aplique el producto en las orejas de mi perro y de ver qué las moscas realmente no se le paraban en las orejas fue lo que me hizo sentir realmente aliviada. Después de aplicar el producto me lave bien las manos y no quedó ningún olor. Leí en otro comentario que es recomendable lavar las orejas del perro antes de aplicar el producto y luego en la noche volver a lavar para quitar el producto. Ya Que deja el pelo del perrito un poco ceboso.
