I'm coming from a Corsair MM800. My thoughts: - They don't tell you the top cloth mat is removable. Like, really easy to remove. - The bottom isn't as grippy as my MM800 was. - I'm using this underneath a LTT mousepad and it works fine. - The little light means it's working. The software doesn't tell you if the mouse is connected to the pad, unless the battery is low enough that it starts charging again. - Not a detachable cable, so if it goes bad, you're screwed, unless you want to break it open and do a little PCB soldering. - Unlike the V1, it doesn't have a wireless dongle built in. - Unlike other mousepads (MM800), it doesn't have a USB passthrough to plug your dongle in to. I'm very opposed to using two USB ports for a single mouse, I'm getting a USB splitter that does a power + power/data split to see if that will get them to a single port. The metal and magnetic magpad of my Magnus Pro XL interfere with the charging current and prevent it from charging. I tried buying an RFID sheet that I've seen lots of people recommend to remedy this, but to no avail. Incompatibility with an incredibly common desk surface aside, the mouse pad itself feels quite cheap. The pad material is too soft and feels very cheap, like the old mouse pads you'd get for free in the early 2000's from business expos... The PowerPlay pad also sticks out a millimeter or so from the pad, which adds on to the cheap, sloppily put together feel. I get what they were going for with removing the integrated wireless receiver (so it could be compatible with future generations of mice), but they didn't even include a USB port on the control unit itself to put wireless dongles? Really? And can they really use that "ensuring future product compatibility" BS when there's bound to be new revisions to the wireless charging technology that they'd want to use instead, and they clearly didn't account for good compatibility with common desk materials? All in all, an incredibly overpriced product for its cheap feel, with a limited compatibility.
