Neutra. Complete Works (Multilingual Edition) [Lamprecht, Barbara Mac, Gossel, Peter, Neutra, Dion, Shulman, Julius] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. Neutra. Complete Works (Multilingual Edition) Review: Incredible quality monographs of the complete works of Richard Neutra - With incredible photographs, including those of the maestro Julius Shulman, and also with rich architectural drawings this is a wonderful book. The graphics are rich with subdued colors and clearly delineated plans illustrated in black ink. It is a large book and some criticize this because it is multilingual in it's text. I did not find this relevant to the experience of holding a chronicle of the complete works of this brilliant and important architect. It is a book to be treated with reverence while browsing its rich pages so its size and weight are a minor inconvenience. Review: Richard Neutra monograph - Best book on Neutra available. Very comprehensive in scope and contains many wonderful color photos.

Architectural Art
This book is awesome for a fan of 20th century architectural design. Even if you just enjoy good design, you'd appreciate the history and the photographs of this great master's work. The fact that the book is so oversized is a conversation piece in itself reflecting the treasure it holds inside. The cover is made out of actual hardwood, the text is written in English, German and French and most all the photographs are black and white. A true treasure for any collector.

Big is beautiful
If you like your books big and heavy, then this book will please you. It is definitely the biggest I've ever bought and putting it on a bookshelf is impossible. But what can you say about its contents. Thorough and complete. To have all of ones work in one book is ambitious, but when done properly, the result is a book which makes all others on the topic redundant. All of Neutra's projects are covered in this book in chronological order. From this you gain a greater perspective of his work, rather than the usual texts which show a few of his greatest hits and always leave you wanting more. One thing you gain from this book is how over a period of 40 or so years Neutra's basic design changed very little, yet was still appropriate to its time and setting. This book is a must have. Just watch your back, it is heavy!!

Wonderful. The definitive work.
Appears to be the absolute definitive work, which is just what it's name says it is. Large format with a rather silly wood cover, it's a monster but if you are a fan of Neutra's work, this is a must have.

Great book.
Great book....the typing a bit small and the book a bit heavy, but great with blueprints labeled and original small photographs.

Overwhelming
I love Nuetra's work, especially since I am a fan of Mid-century arechitecture and furniture design. So when I found this book and at the price that it was, I had to add it to my collection. I actually read every book that goes into my library and I have to say this book is overwhelming. It is one of the most comprehensive literatures of an architects work and life that I have ever seen and I guarrantee anyone who loves Nuetra, architecture, and the mid-century will be pleased.

I had previously seen this out of print book with a $200 price tag and a real wood cover. When I saw it on amazon again, I got very excited. However, the cover is not wood - it's a faux paper finish. But hey, even Richard Neutra was all for painting wood silver to look like metal. This is a great book, filled with excellent photography, interesting history on the man and the projects, and decent enough drawings (if I remember correctly). A real steal at this price and easily the best book on the man and his work.

Another amazing "Complete Works" by Taschen Richard Neutra's works are listed in chronological order according to the year in which they were completed. Chapels, houses, hotels, school buildings, planetaria and the US embassy in Pakistan, each architectural marvel is described with a floor plan, some B&W photos and a rare color photo (about 1 in 10 photos is color). My personal favourites are; USA - the 1947 Edgar Kaufman in Palm Springs Europe - the 1961 Rang house in Konigstein - Germany. There's an appendix listing all the houses and maps of Europe and the USA with the locations of the buildings described in the book. An epilogue by photographer Julius Shulman completes this definitive book on one of the masters of Modernism... Hopefully Taschen is planning a similar work on John Lautner Philip Corneille Belgium - Croatia

The text size is extremely small. A typesetting failure resulting in tiny microscopic minuscule dwarfish puny undersized unreadable text. Better to release an English only edition with easy to read normal size text so that the comprehensive content can be enjoyed. Other language editions should be released separately. Unfortunately the book is unreadable and only good for flicking through the pictures.

Una raccolta completa dei lavori di Neutra fatta molto bene, lo consiglio vivamente.
