Shadow of the Tomb Raider: Official Collector's Companion Tome

I like to play games but I consider myself an occasional gamer not a true fanatic. I want to have fun and feel I've got as much from a game as my limited skills allow. I like game guides to help speed things along.This is a large hard-back book. It covers the whole game and has plenty of maps and tips on how to complete the game and find all the resources and relics that litter the game. The text is clear and well ordered. The text is a bit small to read but the hints are well defined in bold which helps legibility. The chapters are well organized with challenge tombs and crypts added to the end of each chapter. This helps you find the information in context.I have enjoyed using the book and it has helped me get as much from the game as I could so why 4 stars? Well there is a lot of stuff I don't need. I don't really care about notes from the designers and I certainly don't need them in the middle of chapters about gameplay. They are a distraction and get in the way of finding information you need. Tis aside this is a great book and really helps the casual gamer get as much from the game as possible.Highly recommended.

I am a casual gamer that doesn’t have lots of time to get all the ins/outs of the games but still want to be able to achieve a 100% in achievements and challenges.Got this ‘guide’ to help me find all the secrets of the game and found that the first to levels of the game was very detailed and I was able to get all secrets/achievements but as I move through the game the ‘guide’ did not have mapped the the locations where these secrets/achievements where and couldn’t get 100% of the game when I finished it.I had to use google to find the rest of the locations in order to get the 100% and be able to shelve the game.Quality and explanation of the levels are very well written, pages has a very good quality, images are very good quality too. And the sections about all the different weapons, upgrades, clothes, enemies and skills are very well explained.

I needed the guide to continue on while playing "Shadow of the Tomb Raider." I reach a point where I couldn't go forward, I was stuck and couldn't figure out what to do. Nothing online could help me, so I purchased this guide in the hopes it could help me. It did exactly that and I was able to continue through to the next stages of the game. I highly recommend this guide.

thank you amazon for it being sealed in plastic, i received the bonuses including the shadow band resource pack, digital guide, and sticky notes. everything worked on prima games. the book is super nice as well, has tons of maps, pictures of details of the steps in the game, tips on hidden assets. im glad i'd purchased this before playing the game or i'd miss alot of valuable additives of the game. i highly recommend.

This is a beautiful book. Worth buying I'd you over look some of the small location mistakes. Some of the guidance of vague, but it's a game. You're supposed to figure it out. This book is worth the buy for the art alone. The game guide is a bonus.

I've been trying not to use the guide too much since I started Shadow of The Tomb Raider. But when I do, I'm blown away by how detalied everything is and how much time was put into making this guide. It has definitely helped me get through some trying times in the game. If you're looking for an extensive full proof guide, this would be the best one for SOTTR to buy!

I love the strategy guide booklet to help train the game but it was kind of sad that when I got the package shipped to me it was left at my front door on the day it was raining hard so I came to a wet box but I was grateful that you guys wrap the book in plastic

I bought this guide after completing Shadow as I thought I'd enjoy finding out new things about the game and appreciate a bit of assistance with some of the more difficult to find collectables.However the guide is primarily dedicated to helping you complete the story and find the tombs. Given that the game itself has its own guidance and hint system if you're stuck, the book is redundant for that purpose.It's difficult to navigate the guide itself when you're trying to find a specific artefact and it fails to give any real assistance outside of a picture of a map with icons indicating where generally to look (also available in-game, on screen, while naturally progressing through the game).It does have some nice artwork, however but if you're looking for an actual guide, you can find many a fan-made one for free, written with care and attention that this one lacks.

Not a bad book in all fairness can be very helpful and does give you some secrets aha and helps with locating collectibles, think the book is actually of high quality and feels quality in hand! I think the in games items given with this book although practical isn't very special or at all symbolises the purchase, would of rather had an exclusive outfit!

This is definitely a good game companion guide to have with the shadow of the tomb raider game the quality is really high end and it has a nice comfortable texture while holding the game guide

Overall not bad, but even it shows locations of collectibles, it doesn't say how to get to them so its useless mostlyYou can beat the game no problem without this book, I only got it for collection, but I am very disappointed that the comic book is not a separate book, instead its inside the book as a part of it

Nice pictures. Terrible guide. Most maps are missing bits or show 4/5 of the items you need. Instead of a map reference it will say along the lines of outside Allan's House on the left. Way to vague to be Useful. Who is Allan? Where is his house? Basically the item you seek is in the map.
