UAPP instantly recognised the Xtreme Pro DAC/amp by name when connected to the phone and from that point on the difference in usable power available to drive the K712s was surprisingly large. Certainly more than I would ever need. The sound has great clarity and is wonderfully open with these headphones with plenty of control over low notes.I do have other headphones in my collection (Nighthawk Carbon, Nightowl Carbon, Fidelio L1, Fidelio X2, HD598SR, Yamaha HPH MT5, Yamaha HPH200) and even though they require less power to drive than the K712s they do benefit sonically from being used with the Xtreme Pro rather than with the DAC/headphone amp on the phone. Battery consumption on my phone is negligible after several hours use with the Xtreme Pro powering the K712s which is another benefit I wasn't quite expecting.I honestly don't feel that I am missing out on not having bought a Dragonfly Red for the extra £105 (although a side-by-side comparison may ultimately prove me wrong).Highly recommended! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Great value, excellent clarity and precision *by S***F on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 July 2020* Bought for my Xiaomi Mi 8 Pro, I started straight away with Yosi Horikawa (FLAC) on PowerAmp, with AKGK92 over ear headphones, and 1More quad driver in ears. What a difference!Moved on to Meredith Monk, Refused (The Shape of Punk to Come), and John Surman's bucolic saxophone. Great improvement on all these very different albums. An improvement on lossless files, on MP3, and streaming.I have a Behringer UCA222 (€20, so nearly half price), which is marginally better, especially in signal amplification and bass, but it is far more power hungry, and not as portable as the XTremPro.I was undecided between the XTremPro, the DragonFly Black and the Cygnus, but I am very happy with the value of the XtremPro. Without listening to the other two, I very much doubt they're better value, given the price difference.Comes with USB A male to female adapter, and a 3.5 to 6.35 adapter (cable), ***but no adapter to USB C or USB micro***Happy listening, everyone! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Stunning sound *by D***E on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 23 December 2018* I decided to get an Android DAP player, so I got the FiiO M9. Turned out a good decision, wonderful sound and many uses including streaming Spotify.But I also have an Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet and a Xiaomi Mi A2 phone and wanted to upgrade the sound on those with a very small USB stick type DAP. So I considered the Dragonfly Black and the Dragonfly Red but decided they were too expensive and took a chance on this well reviewed Xtrem pro X1. To make sure I would get the best sound I purchased 'USB Audio Player Pro' from Google play, and installed it in my Amazon Fire HD 8 and my phones. It's £5.99 and installs its own driver and gives both software and hardware volume control. One outlay of £5.99 for multiple devices. Wow! Takes the sound when using the USB Audio Player to another level. The Sabre DAP chip comes alive. With good IEMs or Earbuds the sound is just exceptional. The bog standard Amazon Fire HD 8 is usually just OK. Now it is real dynamic pure HiFi. Works best with USB Audio Player Pro, but it still improves the sound without it. The best £36.00 I have invested.
