Great for Newcomers!
This is a great book to use for newcomer classes. It is very thorough, yet it’s easy to read. I used it as a springboard, so I had those attending my class read one or two chapters at a time. There are study guides available online, which have questions to choose from for each of the chapters. I would expand as needed during the lessons, by using other resources I had from seminary. My group loved the book; we had great conversations evolve from the readings/questions; and they are all ready to be received into the Episcopal Church!

The Episcopal Church is a Gift for the 21st Century
Our church in New York City is now using Stephanie Spellers as a consultant, so I decided to obtain the Kindle version of her book in a sort of preparation for our encounter. I rather liked her book and the fresh way that she and her co-author, Eric H.F. Law, talked about the Episcopal Church. This is a book for the 21st century. Those who grew up in the church 50 or more years ago might enjoy reading about a new way of understanding our faith and revealing it to those seeking. She folds in how digital communication, an understanding of how so many people find themselves multi-tasking, and a bottom up spirituality that can grab and like the hierarchy that is so implied in the 'Episcopal' name. She puts into exciting words that most of us who grew up in the Episcopal way saw as a well-watered way/garden that did not need much explaining. I am now reading an earlier book of hers, Radical Welcome.

The Episcopal Way, Understanding the best our Episcopal Tradition into a renewed mission.
The Episcopal Way, the first book in an new Episcopal teaching series, charts an inpired vision of doing the work of Jesus in our contemporary world. Its filling with interesting stories of encountering the Lord in midst of our historic Episcopal/ Anglican traditions. You will find gentle probing questions at the end of each chapter which will make this book a great group read in your congregation.

Anyone interested in the Episcopal Church or who has no knowledge of it and wants to should read as many in The Churches Teaching Series as possible starting with the 1970's version.

This was fantastic and certainly made me think differently toward the “Episcopal Way”!
I would recommend this to anyone that wants to broaden their knowledge base around the Anglican Church. Also, most important that we embrace change in this fast paced world of instantaneous technology and social media.

Useful discussion-starter
This is a very easy way to bring the perspective of the national church into local congregations. We are urging the people of our own church, a consciously isolationist parish for the last half century, to read this together in hopes of creating a common sense of vision and mission for the future. This book is a great ice-breaker in that conversation.

Learning Episcopal
A very thought provoking book explaining the Episcopal belief and purpose. Great book for someone who is not Episcopalian. It has history and goes forward to the current, and how things should move forward.
