only water meter I have found with consistent repeatable results
This is the only water meter I have found with consistent repeatable results. It does test at 0% in air and 100% in a glass of water, but for my soil it shows about 22% when dry and about 37% when fully wet so for my dirt it is a narrow range.

Check this out if you're serious about wireless moisture monitoring
I left a longer review for the WH50 version of this sensor, all of which applies to this one as well. I think the WH50 may be more appropriate for lawn or ground cover (with shallower roots), whereas this version can be buried deeper to get closer to tree roots (at least for younger trees). Also handy to bury more shallow in grass and then extend the wire to a a fence or other structure, so you can mow over the sensor. Well done!
