AquaBeads Elena of Avalor Character Set, Multi-Colour

My granddaughter loves them.

These are so much fun and my 4 and 5 year old really enjoy creating things with the aquabeads!I love that there are over 600 beads in 13 different colors - so many choices! There are also gemstones which are quiet nice. The bead pen is not as easy to use as one would think and it does kind of shoot the bead out, so I don't mind that this set does not include a bead pen.You will clip in the pattern paper behind the tray and from there you will add your beads. Once done fill the small spray bottle which is included with water and spray your creation, Wait 10 minutes and flip your creation and then spray again and wait an additional 10 minutes. From there it is done!This set did not include a peeler but a butter knife or fork will work just fine.Also, as you can see my children did a Daisy Tsum Tsum character - these Elena of Avalor was a bit complex for my 4 year old.

We got a few of these Aquabeads sets and they're a lot of fun. They keep the kids busy for a while and they enjoy making the art. It does require some hand eye coordination. Our seven year old did fine, but our four year old had a tough time with it. This is a smaller set so it's probably best for one kid to make all three things, but it still works nice.

My teenage daughter used to love this product when she was younger. Of course it had a different brand name, but it was the same thing. We decided to let the 5-year old give this a shot. First of all this does not come with the little applicator pen thing like some of the pictures show. That means whoever is creating this will have to CAREFULLY place the tiny beads in the correct spot. It makes for a slow process, especially if you have small and impatient kids. Once everything was in place we sprayed it down with water really well and left it to dry. The product description on the Amazon page says it can be ready in 10 minutes, but I went with the actual product instructions and left it for an hour. After the time was up we peeled it off and everything looked great.

My daughter loves Elena of Avalor and Aquabeads so what better combination? This is a great gift for creativity and will take time to put together which helps preach a bit of patience while things dry. Note that it only has one tray so you won't be able to make other Aquabead creatures until the first one you were working on is dry, which can take up to an hour. I have tried blow drying these and it doesn't seem to work. Only patience.... So beware that I recommend buying another Aquabead set at least so you can have a minimum of two trays. Especially if you have multiple children wanting to design. The designs look great.

These work really well but I have a big complaint about the bags that the beads come in. There are like 20 different colors and none of the bags are resealable. Which means you have to do the whole kit at once, or figure out how to store the beads and you have to be really careful not to spill them. Which... ya know... kids usually aren't. Fun, but very frustrating in that way.

The beads actually work. As warned on the packaging make sure your kid does not eat them, or let the little ones suck on the toy. It smells like glue.On the other hand, like the "ironed" little loops, it takes a while to assemble the figures, but a five year old can do with, with some instructions. After it becomes wet and dried again, it becomes a solid figure. The included material is more or less barely enough to get all the sample shapes, with a small extra for backup. (They easily get lost in the carpet, under the sofa, etc).However it is fun, and would be a good afternoon exercise for the kids.

Aquabeads makes many cute sets and this Elena of Avalor themed set is just as cute as the rest. This is a great set for children who enjoy crafting kits. It takes a lot of patience and precision so it may not be for younger children or less patient ones. Also, parents should be on hand to assist if it gets too frustrating. The finished bead designs are really nice and give a child a wonderful sense of accomplishment.
