I used them for acrylic paint and the hairs got stuck in the paint on my piece and ruined everything. **Q: before I make a complaint to amazon are the #6, 4 and 2 supposed to be hard bristles? I didnt even open the package and these dont feel soft.** A: They are junk, pure and simple. Amazon should not be selling them on their site. **Q: Is it easy to get the paint off?** A: It really depends on which paint you are using? I have used acrylics and ceramic glazes and they both rinse off real easy with water. **Q: Are the handles made of plastic?** A: Some are wood handles and some are plastic. I do a lot of decorative painting as well as decoupage, so I need different brushes for different applications. This set fit the bill for exactly what I needed. It is inexpensive enough that I don't feel badly when I have to use them in glue or other mediums where I'm concerned about being able to remove everything from the brushes. I did find them easy to clean and if I do ruin a brush for whatever reason, they are inexpensive enough to toss and not feel guilty.
