Ground Cover Camping Tarp

I bought this tarp because I wanted a wider tarp to use as a ground cover under River Country's 5 x 7 ft trekking pole tent. The tarp is not quite 5 ft wide, but there would be only about 4 inches on each side of the tent not on the tarp. The material is lightweight, like that used in the tents, It is not rip-stop, but it looks like it can stand up to normal wear and tear. The edges are double stitched.It is 4.5 ft x 7 ft., just as specified. I have a couple of other tarps that are about 6 inches shorter that the stated measurements. River Country gets it right, selling the truth as well as a tarp. It weighs only about 11 oz. with stakes, ropes and bag. It comes with the 4 stakes and rope bundle as shown in the photo. I think it will make a good addition to my trekking pole tent from River Country.And I was not compensated in any way for this review.

I haven't used these to climb up an ice cliff or anything but they certainly appear strong. As far as I can tell, for the low price these offer a lot of features (light weight, easy to see, robust construction, built-in ties for pulling out of the ground). I'm glad I have them and will be using them this summer.

I am getting ready for an 8+ day trip on the Superior Hiking Trail. River Country Products Ground Cover Camping Tarp will be perfect as a footprint for the Trekker 2.2 tent I also bought. A waterproof tarp, lightweight stakes and guyline of excellent quality. The tarp is true to size, not sized, cut, and sewn to a smaller size. It can easily service as an emergency tarp kit that easily fits in a cargo pocket.

the only reason I returned it was because I wanted a footprint exactly the same size as my 2.2 RC tent. The product itself was light, durable, and affordable.The company and its people have always had a good reputation as well so Im happy to leave a 5 star rating.

Perfect fit for my RCP 2.2 tent, however, it's a bit heavier than the window-film alternative that I decided to use instead. Might still use it for car-camping.

I've used the ground cover tarp on two different camping trips (one in the back-country of the Red River Gorge in Kentucky and the second in a grassy backyard in Michigan). The tarp has held up great and I will be using again soon for another back-country camping trip. The tarp provided extra protection for my tent floor and the stakes are a great addition to my camping gear, too.

Right size and no vapor getting thru yet.

My new footprint or floor tarp fits perfectly under my 7’x5’tent and protect the tent floor, it’s light weight and great.
