Glowing, Silky-Smooth Skin Thatโs Worth the Initial Smell
Iโve been using AmLactin Daily Nourish Therapeutic Body Lotion, and I can definitely see why itโs so highly recommended. I first heard about it from a dermatologist I follow on Instagram, who speaks very highly of it, so I decided to give it a try. The 12% lactic acid gently exfoliates dead skin while deeply moisturizing, and the results have been amazing. After just a short time, my arms and legs look noticeably smoother, softer, and have a healthy glow that I wasnโt getting from regular body lotion. I love that it exfoliates without any scrubbing, making it easy to incorporate into my routine. The only downside is the scent. It has a strong ammonia-like smell when you first apply it, which isnโt pleasant. Thankfully, the odor fades once the lotion dries and a little time has passed, so it hasnโt been a dealbreaker for me. Overall, the results far outweigh the temporary smell. My skin has never looked or felt better, and Iโll definitely be adding this to my daily skincare routine. If youโre dealing with dry, rough skin and want smoother, glowing skin, this lotion is absolutely worth trying.

Great results, very fair price, but sadly, the stank is real (edited!)
Starting with the good, I am really pleased. I (61f) had been using The Ordinary 5% lactic acid drops on my face, and saw subtle improvement in surface texture. I thought, ok, I don't have any irritation with this, so let's try amping up the percentage. Test patching with this 12% product was ok. Some mild pinprickling - not burning -which is what I expected, and only lasts about a half hour. No rash, no roughness, and the faint pinpricks tell me it's penetrating to do the work. After about a week using it, I'm really liking what I see, and the price doesn't hurt at all. Having said that... I am not what anyone would call "scent sensitive". I wear perfumes, don't have any allergies, headaches, or reactions. But man, this has a smell all its own. It's just, ugh. Like you left yogurt rotting in a rubber glove. And you can't get any closer to the source of the smell than on your own face. It doesn't seem to fade much, either. I could still smell it quite clearly by the end of the day when I put it on in the morning. I actually had my friend sniff me. Closer. Ok, now closer... She practically had her nose pressed up against my cheek when she said, "Oh, ok, now I think I'm smelling it." So it's not like it's stinky to anyone else. But again, nobody smells your own face more clearly than you do, and even at the end of the day it was very noticeable to me. So I do have to knock a star off for that. Having said all that? Still gonna keep using it, because it really does seem to be doing a nice job smoothing out fine surface crepeyness on my face, and plumping/hydrating. Maybe at some point that particular receptor will burn out in my nose and I'll stop noticing that smell. I really hope so, because I rarely see such nice results in such an inexpensive product. (edit) Had to come back and edit this to give it that last star. I'm calling this User Error. More is not better here, and when I used a little less and massaged that in thoroughly, the smell was much, much less, and then really did fade away to nothing in about an hour. I guess applying too much to absorb easily on your face would naturally make it sit there all day on the surface.

Moisturizer
My favorite lotion! I wax my legs so I tend to get ingrowns but this lotion prevents me from getting them, has also gotten rid of all the marks I have on my legs. Even though it says free of fragrance it does leave a smell but nothing too bad

Good for night time use!
This lotion is very effective and delivers noticeable results. After about three weeks of consistent use, my skin felt significantly softer, smoother and well nourished thanks to the 12% lactic acid formula. It absorbs well and works great as an overnight moisturizer, especially for dry areas. The only downside is the slightly sour, medicinal odor that lingers after application, which may not be for everyone. Because of that, I prefer using it at night. Overall, the performance is strong and the results are visible with continued use, making it a solid option for dry skin despite the scent.

๐ Pedicure in a Bottle ๐
I jokingly call this my "pedicure in a bottle," but honestly... it has earned the nickname. I love that I can simply apply it like a regular body lotion at bedtime and let it do the work. With consistent use, it keeps my feet, heels, elbows, and other rough areas feeling much smoother without having to constantly reach for a foot file or body scrub. It absorbs well, provides lasting hydration, and gently exfoliates over time. I appreciate that it improves my skin gradually instead of feeling harsh or abrasive. If you're looking for an easy way to keep rough, dry skin under control, this is absolutely worth trying. It's become one of those body care products I never like to be without.

No More Pump-Dispensers
I really like how soft and smooth AmLactin makes my skin feel. However, I'm DONE buying products that are dispensed by a pump. After a certain point, even though there's quite a bit of lotion left in the bottle, it's not enough to get up into the pump. This leaves me having to try to get the rest out by turning the bottle upside-down and making a mess with it. My guess is that it's a not-so-clever way to get people to buy it more often, because they get frustrated trying to get the remainder out, give up, and buy another bottle. It's a waste. I just bought a different brand with a screw-top that lets me simply squeeze the lotion out until the bottle is actually pretty much empty.

Smells
VERY GOOD! Fast working to smooth skin and clear dark spots! I use it daily in the body after showering and in the face at night or before showering, then add moisturizer and sunscreen. The smell isn't good, but I got used to it. It smells like soy sauce.

Truly works
I was not expecting too much even when I saw all the great reviews because, well, these lotions really fall down on their claims to some extent. The AmLactin is definitely the best lotion Iโve ever used so far. Much better than another brand I have a good review a year ago. Definitely recommend to buy. Really hope they keep the formula. You can see and feel the difference in the softness and smoothness of the skin. It even helps with KP. This will be the only staple for me going forward unless someone gives me something that beats it, because Iโm not buying anything else

Best body lotion for sensitive & acne prone body skin
Love this body lotion! It moisturises without being greasy and leaves your body super soft. It has no fragrance so it is suitable for my extremely sensitive skin . I've tried other body lotions from the pharmacy but either they had fragrance or they were too greasy . It has been only a month but I can already see a remarkable improvement in my skin condition.
