A: Yes!!! It should fit a pair of shoes for small children

**Q: How wide is the shoe bag?**
A: 18 inches give or take

**Q: Can it be hung just on a flat wall?**
A: It is hung by four hooks over the door. The hooks attach to the pockets by having the hooks go through four holes. You could, I suppose, put hooks or nails on wall. I would be concerned that whatever you use can support the weight you will be using. With that caveat, there is no reason why you couldn’t hang it on a wall.
