Embossed Leather Blue Stone 120 Page Unlined Journal with Clasp (Brown)

I have seen many mixed reviews here, But I must say that the Hand made book that I received here, is as unique & as beautiful as described. I am using it for one of my novels that I am writing, to be my personal copy within my library & the book that I received is well beyond any expectations. I have purchased many hand made leather books, & one thing I have come to expect, is that each of them will be a bit different as they are all hand made, so even in some the tones in the shade of coloring may vary, but none the less very beautiful & unique.. I highly recommend this seller as they are very prompt & Orders arrive in a very fast process.. Update on my review 10-14-2017 I love the journals so much that I purchased an additional 2 of these. While the first 2 that I ordered, were very high quality as stated above in my previous review; the latest 2 of this item was shipped from 2 different places & these last 2 were very poor in quality. It feels more like a thin piece of rubber with a thick plastic piece in place where the stone should be. I am highly disappointed with these last 2. However I do not waste my time trying to return any items that I purchase, they will serve as a scratch pad of ideas of what I will write in a real quality book and then dispose of the garbage scratch pads.. Very disappointed.. on the left is the high quality & on the right is the thin rubber garbage..

I received a book similar to the picture, but it came with the leather string wrap instead of the locking mechanism. In the product description it states "It has an antiqued brass swing clasp to keep your secrets from prying eyes." Mine did not come with the brass lock. It's not as sore a spot as you'd think because this thing is beautiful! The leather detail is insane and everything about it is perfect. I might even like the string closure better because it gives it a very rustic feeling. I've never had a journal that makes me so excited. The paper is heavyweight with light texture and I love the jagged edge mismatch. The leather cover makes the book flexible. The blue stone has very slight gold flecks in it and I've read that the stone varies from order to order. It has a very organic ancient feeling to it. I can't wait to throw some words and pictures in it! Thank you!

I was so shocked and stunned by the sheer quality of this journal when it came I made myself stop what I was doing to go write an immediate review. It is clearly hand made. I'm almost ashamed by how little I paid for it, and find myself wondering about the hands that sewed the paper into the binding....because yeah, it looks hand stitched....in a good way. I work with leather....it's clearly actual leather as the inside is still unburnished and "raw" looking, though the outside is tanned, stained and tooled. I'm seriously considering buying more for teacher Christmas gifts because they really would be fantastic prayer journals, or sketch books (the pages are unlined) or even a recipe book. It just looks like an heirloom.

Please note that one of these comments are intended to be complaints. I paid a bit over $10 and I got a book that looks a lot nicer than what I could have made myself with twice that in material costs and a lot of time spent. As is noted in the product description, the embossed pattern on my journal differs somewhat from the image. Especially on the back cover, the embossing is not quite as crisp and consistent as I might have liked, but overall, it's nice. There are some minor imperfections on the inside surface of the leather, but that's the nature of the material. There is also a bit of inconsistency in the way the pattern wraps around the closure flap, but it's not really a problem in my opinion. The paper is slightly textured, and the sheets are different. It adds to the effect of the book in my opinion. The stitched minding seems more than adequate to the task, and there is room to add scrapbook-style inserts and embellishments without interfering with closing the book and clasping it shut. The clasp works. Honestly, I expected it to be worthless. It's functional, though. The metal probably isn't particularly robust, but it seems sturdy enough to do the job at hand. The stone on the cover is secured in place by a leather disc and stitching. It appears to be a synthetic cabochon with a slightly irregular cut, but as the description says, the stone may vary from what you see, and I think it looks cool. I would note that the stitching wrapping through the inside of the front cover can make it slightly awkward to close the flap to clasp the cover shut, but it's not a major problem. Just be aware that you'll need to pay a bit of attention to make it work. I gave this 4 stars out of 5 because it exceeded my expectations. Had it absolutely blown me away, I would have given 5. In my opinion, it's a good value for the price I paid, and I'd recommend it for anyone who wants a unique scrapbook, journal, or steampunk costume piece at a reasonable price.

This book exceeded my expectations. The price is amazing for this quality. The book is leather and it does come with a blue lapis stone securely placed on the cover. The game made paper makes this even more special, you can actually find lil petals in the paper which gives it more of a natural feel. There paper is also thick, I am using a felt tip black ink flare pen to write with and it doesn't bleed through to the other side of page. This is such a great buy, perfect for keeping recipes, spells, poetry, journal in. This book is enchanting. I highly recommend and will definately purchase more.

I LOVE this book,I was meant as a gift for my sister and she loved it just as much! It really does look hand made and the pages have this strong,thick fabric feel to it.I received the one with a oval stone which was also really pretty. The clasp worked perfectly and it seems to have a antique/special look to it. It was meant for my sister but I am sure to order one for myself as a Journal, I am sure it will inspire a lot of thought.Yes it is a bit smaller than say a regular sized notebook but its fat with all those pages and really a perfect size to me! I am unable to post a photo since my sister took it with her, but I can say it looks better than the picture!

Nice leather book but the quality is lacking the stone was so scratched up and blackish brown (it was advertised as blue ) if it was my product I would be embarrassed to sell it. I ordered this one specifically for the leather tie and got the latch instead. I ordered a latch version at the same time from a different seller. The stone also looked like someone tried to take it out because the leather around the stone was slightly ripped. This was a paired present for someone for christmas so i kept it and went to a craft stored and glued a brass tree charm to cover the ripped leather and awful stone. A few of the internal pieces of metal were green so i glued brass circular covers over them to give the book a better quality look. I will give this a 3 although i think others may have given it a lower if they would have gotten theirs in the condition mine was in. Im giving it a 3 because although I had to invest about $12 extra to fix it and 20 minutes of time and two days to cure the glued fixtures, it came out nicely and the leather does look nice with the flaw covered. My recommendation to the seller is to quality check their products before mailing them off. Although I like the latch a lot I bought this expecting the leather wrap. If you have both let the customer choose otherwise it is false advertising, same with the stone, if you have multiple stone colors you should give the buyer the option.

Love it! It's better than I thought it would be. I found similar looking ones for more than double the price in a touristy Wicca/bead store. They were exactly the same thing except different designs, but the paper inside was definitely more recycled/handmade looking. The paper in this journal is much higher quality parchment type paper. The other journals I saw in the store had very uneven paper, with lumps and different shades in it. The paper in this one does have some paint/stain marks on some pages.The stone in this journal is very pretty as well. It has pretty gold flecks through it and a deep blue color. Its not super vivid and doesn't pop against the dark brown of the journal but it is still pretty. This journal also came with a clasp like in the name and not a tie like in the picture.

This book is nicely made, my son wanted it to write in a journal. The price was great compared to other retailers and I wouldn't hesitate to buy another if he fills it up.

I bought this fine leather-bound book as a prop for a short horror film I was making. I needed some spooky stuff with which to fill the pages so I sat up all night researching ancient languages, hyrogliphs and runes, spells and incantations. I found one with which I was particularly taken and in a fever began to enscribe it upon the first page. Upon finishing I was taken by a queer sensation as if falling, and the room around me began to disappear. Only the book remained; black seas of infinity poured from its pages and I was carried upon them to a nether realm beyond space and time and body. A voice began to speak. Calm and quiet yet all knowing and terrible, containing power beyond human understanding. "Fill the book and restore the Great Old Ones. Fill the book and fulfill your destiny... Fulfill the fate of men." Suddenly I was back in my chambers. The book opened itself and strange dark arts were projected upon the page. I began to trace out these ancient symbols and fullfil my destiny. But no sooner had I began than I was interrupted by an email from the Great terrible Eldritch entity Amazon.com asking if I could review my purchase and threatening unspeakable horrors if I failed to do so. So here I am: 5 stars. Would recommend to a friend. Not that such trivialities will be of any consequence much longer.

Veramente un ottimo prodotto, l'ho regalato ad un mio amico per natale, per una campagna GDR di D&D, per usarlo come taccuino per l'avvenuta. Il prodotto è molto curato, fatto bene e l'odore della pelle è inconfondibile come la qualità, molto alta. Un regalo semplice ma molto grazioso.

La verdad el diseño me molado bastante y tanto la calidad como el precio son perfectos.

Es justo el tipo de diario que buscando, algo de buena calidad, hecho a mano, para poder tener algunos manosscritos de caligrafía... sin duda voy a comprar otros ... Felicidades.
