Solar Pond Pump 20 Watt Solar module 1350 l/h Flow Rate 1.9 m Delivery Head Complete Set for Garden Pond

I bought this after returning another quite useless solar pump, encouraged by the chart showing the output at different head levels. I have installed it in a water feature using a mix of the supplied pipe, Eheim 12/18mm filter hose (which will push fit onto the pump/pipes), a pushfit pipe conenctor and some regular grey pushfit plastic water pipe. The pump is required to lift water to 70cm above the water level, from where it flows back down the water feature into the collecting pool where the pump sits.In GOOD STRONG SUNLIGHT the output is sufficient to give an attractive flow -rate - in fact I had to push the outlet pipe below the surface of the highest pot as it was shooting too far up and the wind would carry the water away. This is very good for a solar pump. HOWEVER, beware - in our changeable English weather the pump will frequently cut out due to clouds, and any shadow falling on the large solar panel (such as a fence rail) will be enough to stop or severely restrict the flow rate. Very early sunshine may be insufficient and anything other than light cloud will stop the flow.It is a shame that there is no rechargeable battery in this package, (nor an in-line switch) though of course that would add to the cost.I have re-written the review a little and increased the star rating after several weeks of use - this is good for a solar pump (and the delivery packaging is exemplary as well as environmentally kind) because it is rare to get good output like this from a solar pump - just accept that you need decent sunlight and nothing impeding that light from reaching the photovoltic cell.Although the cable is a decent length I intend to get an extension lead (hopefully there will not be too much of a voltage drop) so that I can mount the panel flat on a tall post without it being on top of the water feature. The problem with the supplied stand is the need to constantly re-direct the panel, and plants or fences impeding the sunlight.All said - i would buy this pump again.

Easy to assemble, working fine.

The solar panel and the pump are strong enough to lift the water up 2 metres to the fountain tap but the main issue is that the solar panel only works in full sun light, any shade on the panel and the power cuts off.Really disappointed.If there was a back up battery pack with this equipment it would 5 stars.

Powers a waterfall and a fountain under full sun.

Bought this to try and pump flow is excellent in a south facing location. Now bought a bio filter and connected it up, flow rate is almost an exact match. Very pleased. Only downside and what stops it getting 5 stars is that no one can tell me what make/model the coupler is so I can add a 12V battery in parallel. There is enough voltage to charge the battery and run the pump and longer running means clearer water. I was pleased enough to buy a second unit for another pond, the pump failed after two years, pv is ok so looking for a new pump. Still no news on the coupler though so will buy a jointing kit

Easy to install, good flow rate.I attached a hosepipe and use it for a 3 foot high water fall from the pond.But didn't use the solar panel stand but two shelf brackets and attached the solar panel at the top of a wall (for full sunlight.)

I had previously bought a similar solar pump which have been running for over a year with no issues. Gave me a short lived joy when it was running (first 5days)! Only makes some noise with from the motor without any flow even in the full sunlight. Waste of £90!

Das ist nun schon die zweite Solarteichpumpe vom gleichen Hersteller.Während die erste vollen Sonnenschein benötigt um entsprechend zu pumpen, läuft die neue nun schon bei bedeckten Himmel. Obwohl das Solarpaneel kleiner ist.
