NIC works in Lenovo ThinkCentre running pfSense
I installed this Intel 1226-V NIC in a Lenovo ThinkCentre M710q to use as a pfSense router. It has been working great and has remained stable. Installation was easy as the drivers are available within the FreeBSD OS that pfSense is built on. I did have a WiFi M.2 card installed originally in the Lenovo which I had disabled in the BIOS and because of this, the NIC was not available within pfSense until I changed settings in the BIOS to re-enable the M.2 slot previously used by the WiFi card. The cable from the M.2 board to the ethernet connection is approx. 10โ on the one I received, and it came with screws to mounting to the case back of the case as well as screws to retain the M.2 board in the slot. I placed the ethernet jack in the available expansion area built into the back of the case after removing the metal cover over it and (tip) it was easier to align correctly after I inserted a cat 5 cable into the jack before tightening down.

Wake-on-LAN and 2.5G speeds
Worked perfectly when installed in Lenovo m720q. Full 2.5 gigabit speeds when tested with iperf. Wake on LAN works flawlessly.

Works as expected!
Worked exactly as it should. Opnsense detected it and used the appropriate driver.

If it doesn't fit, you must've quit.
This thing works great! Hooks up as advertised, lives up to its specifications. However, one thing you cannot do is pinching the hairlike wires in the case when you are closing this project back together. I was trying to modify a single NIC-NUC and it did not fit. The tiny little solder pads are difficult to see, and even more difficult if you are trying to solder the leads back on melting them into a single blob. If you could see my purchase history, I got three of these little babies, and they were all because I tried to force it in, and let me tell you that was not the path to success. When I did it the right way, everything worked out fine, and my family had a new high-speed router, where I can see what type of filth they are using the internet for.

Solid Intel based network card
I ordered this as a second network card for my micro form factor Dell Optiplex, replacing the wireless card. Iโm using the PC as my router, using OPNSense as the operating system. It has been functioning fine for 6 months without issues.

I didn't get a i226-V, 2,5GB intel card just one that doesn't work !!!!!!!!!!!
I looking for anther card to replace that piece off crap. Right on his add, it states it's a 2.5 GB card made by intel, and in a micro-mini P/C that only has one onboard card and you don't have a WIFI card in your PC setup would work, if his add was true. I didn't have a chance to really start work on what I was doing, to really test it. I did install it and it fit good, you just have to turn on that wireless card slot in BIOS if it not already on and it worked. I final got a chance to get back o what I was doing last week, and was making I plugged it into my network to do configure with both cards connected, I ha d some issues at first but figured those out quick. I have a 100/1000/10GB managed , and I wasn't expecting the card to run at 2.5 only at 1GB. I was checking thing out and documenting where I was going to put thing and I saw that card was only running at at 100 MB, I look back at my order, and double checked that it add said it was a 2,5GB card and an intel. So I got my wiring test out and test all the cables, they were all good, next down loaded the drive pack from intel and tried to load that with no luck. So I pulled the card out and looked at it, It did have intel or anyone else's name on it. I can tell you it's not an intel, and I didn't see anything in the box that stated it was an intel or nothing that said 2,5 GB on it either. So start away from this seller. It was a cheat no name card from China that's not worth your time or money to buy that card from this sell, I went to his store and he sale computer parts, About the only thing I can say about his add, it was new. But intel doesn't sell cards with no instructions with it and they are going to have their name on the card some where as well. Just want to let every one know stay away!!!
