Perfect little sander outstanding performance

I'm very familiar with Skil products so I know the first time I use it,which will be soon. It will perform as I know it will.

This sander works well for sanding and it is not too loud. I do not use the pressure gauge so I cannot speak to that. The dust collector works by punching holes in the sandpaper with the provided template. The idea is the dust is sucked up through the holes into the dust bin on the sander. The issue is that the template does not cleanly remove the sandpaper from the hole and it blocks the dust from getting to the collector. I end up with more dust on the floor around the piece that I am sanding than in the dust bin. The holes in the sandpaper also provide an easy place for the sandpaper to start tearing.

This was a replacement for a 20 year old B&D palm sander my mother passed down from her projects. The dust filter is easy to clean and traps most of the dust. It’s still highly advisable to wear a mask. Attaching the paper is pretty simple and easy if you are patient. I’ve found this goes into corners and tight spaces pretty well. I’ve disassembled teak chairs and refinishing them. It was relatively inexpensive, well made and it takes out rough spots, varnish and nicks very easily.

Powerful little sander, had one just like it years ago. A little workhorse and great for small areas.

My husband 30 plus years ago decided to seal our mountain stone on the inside of the house needless to to say it looks like vinyl I hated it I have tried to hand sand never worked I tried to forget it but it drove me nuts ,but with this handy dandy little sander it worked great I got a good start on it looks so much better. PS I have a TV cabinet my son in law made for us one of the doors was warped and wouldn't shut after many years of driving me crazy I got the sander out this morning and sanded the top and side down and now it closes with ease it has already paid for it self and I have so much more to do I can't wait!!

This sander is much quieter than my old Craftsman sander, which finally quit after years of use; the latter's switch quit working well before its demise. This one performs very well indeed, and while loading the sandpaper is a bit cumbersome, it stays on until the paper loses grit or tears due to nail heads or other irregular features on the item being sanded. The dust collector is a plus; I have yet to employ the vacuum hose attachment feature. If the latter works well, it's a coup. I've used it for several months ; it's working well so far. It appears to be a good acquisition for not much money.

The price point was accurate and the tool performed really well to complete a sanding of an entire bus! I would recommend this!

It will be used for sanding inside corners of a deck project and the outsides of the railings

Compre esta lijadora para trabajar algunos proyectos de carpintería en casa, no me decepciono su rendimiento y por el costo beneficio del equipo estoy muy contento. Espero que las piezas tengan una buena duración y la marca Skill vende muy buenos productos a un precio competitivo , posiblemente no sean de uso industrial o profesional pero si no les das un uso de esos , los equipos te darán muy buenos años de servicio y satisfacción a un precio adecuado no equiparable a las marcas mas costosas.

Very easy to use and works well. Could have been a bit more powerful so that the sanding becomes more effective. Very good product for the household anyways.
