Great for cat lovers
I must profess that I know nothing of Feng Shui or what the color black stands for within the realm of Feng Shui. I am merely a cat-lover and this little ornament reminded me of my black cat Georgie. A couple things to consider when buying this: 1. Calling this an ornament could be confusing to some people because it's not an ornament in the Christmas Tree sense, it's really more of a nick nack. Something the place on a shelf or a ledge. 2. It's a pretty solid litte ornament. I think the material is wood, though it could be some sort of composite material. 3. The only part of the ornament that is relatively cheap are the red and gold stickers on the front. They are in fact, stickers, not painted. Mine have stayed on well but I have seen other reviews state that the stickers peeled off theirs. Overall, I think this is a really cute little nick nack, perfect for a cat lover.

Size Matters
This is very cute, but only a bit larger than a golf ball....a racquet ball size. Fits nicely as an assesory in our Asian themed guest room, but was smaller than expected

Smaller than what I expected. It will fit in the palm of your hand easily. Another thing I didn't notice til it arrived was that the front red and gold parts with symbols are actually stickers and not painted on. It did come with a paper explaining which color Feng Shui Cat should be facing with cardinal direction for it's effect. Obviously cheaply made and I feel like I spent too much for it. However it still looks good and is a nice ornament anyway.

Has nothing to do with feng shui, but it's still adorable.
II expect that the feng shui attribution is an attempt to sell this item to people who have decided that feng shui is the path to health, wealth and happiness. Whatever the truth of that is, this little cat does not have its origins in the precepts of feng shui. It's a Maneki Neko, a beckoning cat from Japan. There are any number of stories about the origin of this little guy, but in the end, the legend is that one (or more) of these amiable little cats in your home or business will invite good fortune and even wealth. This particular Maneki Neko is smallish, but so cheerful that he'll provoke as much good humor as a neko several times his size. Obviously there's no guarantee that having one will bring you wealth, but if you keep him close you'll never want for a smile.

cute
Smaller than I thought and hollow, but still very cute. Oh and the little symbols are stickers which was a little disappointing, but oh well.

A cute Lucky Cat that will bring a smile to your face.
I bought this little Lucky Cat as a companion to the Feng Shui Owl I also purchased for my daughter. After all, I couldn't get her a Japanese owl without also making sure that a Lucky Cat got in there too. The figure is painted porcelain, with stickers adorned with what I think are Japanese characters. It is quite cute, and is small enough at less than three inches to fit just about anywhere. The girl loved it, and that makes me happy. Mission accomplished.

Cute good luck charm.
Happy cat. Sits in my north facing window. Not sure if it is working but sure is fun to look at and we are all healthy in this house. We could pick up the slack and do more to improve our lot but so far I guess it is going good enough. If you have allergy this is the perfect cat for you.

Very cute, but it's not an ornament .. no place to put a string or wire to hang this. Mislabeled!
