Definitely Joy
This little deck cannot tell a lie. Nor throw a stone. It’s a straight shooter with a heart.

A very cool and artistic tarot deck!
I have fallen in love with this tarot deck, I was gifted the Paulina Tarot deck by someone about a year ago,and I loved the art style Paulina uses, and when I saw this deck on sale on Amazon, I had to grab it!The booklet with card meanings is really fun, the card description actually give names to the characters you see in the images on the cards, and also gives an upright and reversed meaning for each card, though the reversed is reduced to a few terms that could potentially equal what the card is about. The deck has given me accurate and interesting readings and I recommend it to anyone who wants to upgrade from the classic Rider-Waite.

Replacing the Victoria Regina deck is difficult...
Originally written as a response to another review but want to give some stars here:Another reviewer mentioned that the cards have copyrights printed on each card. Oh my gosh, the copyright is printed so so tiny! On my deck, anyway... My cards arrived today and I thought they must have eliminated the copyright from the cards because I didn't see them at all...until I looked really really really really close. I don't think anyone should let that concern keep them from buying this deck if they are drawn to it.The box, as others have said, is extremely flimsy. Mine was kept safely together with shrink wrap and the cards themselves were wrapped tightly in their own plastic wrapper inside the box. The box was a bit crushed because, in addition to being flimsy, it is a bit larger than the cards and book held inside. I read elsewhere that the cheap box is probably what kept the price down on the cards. If that's the case, I personally don't mind at all. I usually move my cards to a pouch anyway. The cards themselves were in great shape. Super slick and shiny, as others have noted. I remember my first Rider-Waite deck feeling that way when they were brand new and they eventually got "broken in" with handling. Do be careful while shuffling.Overall, just love this deck so far. I am switching from the Victoria Regina deck and this is the first that seemed to come close in the depth of detailing I personally need for intuitive readings. At least it looked that way from the images on her website and now, with deck in hand, I am not at all disappointed! Look forward to reading with them.

Another fantastic deck
I am not even a big fan of this type of art, as say framed on the wall, but as a tarot, I love it. The energy makes me giddy, joyful, like I could get caught in a fairy ring and dance for a thousand years. I may have said that before! Lol. I was not bothered at all by the business of the Paulina deck. It was like those mosaic find the item type pictures from childhood. If it did bother you this deck is an improvement in that, as the central characters do stand out more. I think Paulina is still my favorite, but maybe just because that was my first, of her decks, however I just love them both. I read for others and myself quite well, with either. There is nothing that really detracts from what I know of the standard RWS and where there is deviation, well I follow what the image is telling me anyway. If an expression doesn’t seem to fit the traditional meaning I go with the expression of the deck I am using. Often when a deck is not whimsical, I find proportions and ackward art figures annoy me and turn me off. With this being what it is, there is not one card that annoys me.

Joie de Vivre
I am a user of the Paulina Tarot, and when the Joie de Vivre deck came out, I had to get it. HAD to!I was disappointed with the way Amazon sent me the package. The box had been opened and all bent up. During the product's voyage to my house, the cards slipped out of the box and the corners were frayed. When I took the shrink wrap off, I was disappointed that my cards didn't feel new at all. Whoever handled my package was definitely not careful with it. The box itself was opened and smooshed when I got to it.The box presentation is nice, very familiar to the Paulina Tarot. When you look at the Joie de Vivre cards, you immediately recognize they aren't matte and that the stock is thinner. They would be hard to photograph if you were to have a client overseas. They are easier to shuffle, but I worry about how easily they might damage over time. What bothers me the most is the us games copyright on the bottom right of each card. I don't think it was necessary to tarnish the design of each card with it. In a way, that copyright takes away the magic of the deck for me. It is very distracting, and not present in the Paulina deck. Are you looking for a whimsical deck in which the figures are expressive? This would be the deck. It features characters that tell you as much about the card with their expressions as all the rest of the elements around them. While the book has wonderful suggestions for what each card means, I feel that it is very important that you make a bond with these cards. Get to know them personally by sleeping with them under your pillow, looking at each card closely for recognizable symbols, and identifying the court with people you may know in real life. The archetypes are clear, and that is definitely a plus. The print quality is very nice, with more contrasts and brighter colors. The font option is also much, much nicer than the Paulina Tarot. Paulina Cassidy did an AMAZING job with her illustrations, but I strongly feel that the packaging and materials need to be better if the main distribution line is through Amazon/online retail.---After reading with it for some time, I have found that the deck sings to you. It has become my regular go-to deck, and one that I appreciate very much. Something that I wish the publisher would have thought about, though, would be to make the backs borderless. There are many animals in the cards that help to interpret their meanings. Additionally, you can find that the figures in the cards will speak to you as old friends. I like the narrative and intuitive quality of the cards, but still wish that it was made from a semi-matte stock. What is the point of having such beautiful illustrations if the deck doesn't match the quality of Paulina's work?
