Good for beginners but there are easier ways to fade nowadays
Cutting my own hair at home is always a fun time, so I figured this guide would pair perfectly with my 3-way foldable mirror to help keep my fades clean. โโข Pros: The band looks weird, but it's pretty much a one size fits all setup that's easily adjustable to fit your head. It's actually not uncomfortable at all, even though the instructions explicitly warn you not to wear it for more than 5 minutes. โโข Cons: It really only helps you create that very first line. After that, it's a lot of extra work to constantly shift the band up and just hope you're placing it in a good spot for the next pass. It does seem durable but I'm not sure if it's worth the money. โDon't get me wrong, it helps if you struggle with making a straight guideline, but it feels a bit outdated. Plus, there are just so many other tools and easier ways to get the same results nowadays without strapping a band to your head.

It's made of leather.
I started cutting my boys hair years ago when professionals began to refuse giving them haircuts, sometimes mid-cut. They were just terrified of haircuts, and I didn't know what to do. I did the only thing I could, work with them on their fear and in the meantime, cut their hair myself. My other challenge was that I did not know how to cut hair. So, I use templates and other tools. I chose this one expecting it to be made of plastic. It is not. Its appearance is that of leather - I think. That doesn't work well with a teen who keeps moving his head. Leather can be accidentally cut. What I do like is that it has an elastic end that keeps it at the correct size. Then again, elastic can be accidentally cut. So, I don't think it would be durable in my situation but would work well with a person who isn't trying to move their head the entire time. In a nutshell, it is easy to use and quality made, but it appears to be leather and would be a value for the price point if you are not using it on special needs teens who are afraid of haircuts.
