Quite a few good reviews on this mount already, but thought I would add my experience for what it's worth. I have what I guess I would call a budget NV scope that I use for varmint control around my property when needed. The scope has a built-in IR illuminator, but sometimes you need a little more. The scope has a small section of Picatinny to allow for mounting other accessories, I had picked up an IR illuminator with a lot more brightness and a very "focused" spot a couple of years ago, but never managed to get it mounted so the light was aligned very well with the scope view. Happened to run across this mount on Amazon one day, and figured the price wasn't too bad, so picked one up.As far as the quality of the mount itself; seems pretty decent. I'm not really sure if the aluminum parts are anodized or just painted, but in either case, the finish is okay. The steel parts are your basic phosphate black. The mount fit my Picatinny rail section perfectly, there is plenty of room to back off the screw and get the clamp out of the way to allow easy mounting to a rail. The clamp isn't spring-loaded like some are, just floating, but this is fine. There were no issues with the fit of my IR illuminator in the ring, and the offset built into the mount allowed the bell of the illuminator to easily clear my scope. The elevation and windage adjustments in the mount didn't have much of a "click" (I guess maybe could call it a "mushy click") but seemed to have more than enough friction to hold adjustment. The best part, I was easily able to align the spot from my light to the view through my scope. The alignment has so far held/been consistent through several cycles of use, including taking the mount on and off. Very pleased so far, does what it's advertised to do, seems like it will hold up, and didn't break the bank.

Wether I mount my IR light on top or on the side of my scope for night vision hunting this adjustable mount allows me to precise tune my IR light to my scope.

Works well, but if you need very precise adjustments, tgis might not be for you. It has click adjustments and no locking.

screw heads stripout and the screws don't thread easily

I know you're tempted, but don't do it. It is a huge piece of junk. Poor finish, poor quality, rough edges, voids, etc. Not only that, this example with the unevenly split ring is AWFUL. Mine would not allow the screw holes to line up with a 1" body light in the ring. Adjustment mechanism appeared just OK, but the ring itself is complete trash. NOT worth the thirty some odd dollar price.

Appears to be cheaply made. Very wobbly.
