This replaced my existing ZTE MF923 that I have been using daily since 2014
My old ZTE MF923 was originally purchased to use occasionally on trips to remote locations. ATT seemed to be everywhere I needed to go back in 2014.Turned out I have used a ZTE MF923 plugged in everyday since as my WIFI router. Speed of the download is dependent on how close you are to a Cell Tower. I have run the old one at 100Mbps at one point and could recently get it up to 80Mbps.MF923 provides either 2.4 Mbps or 5.0 Mbps wifi. My old one just slowed down on 5.0 so I changed to 2.4Mbps Wi-Fi speed came back and I ordered a new one.The new MF923 gets 75Mbps but I have not optimized it by moving locations around my Amazon Firestick. Speed is location dependent. The new one does not come with a sim card and I used my existing MF923 sim card and 32GB memory card for sharing files (Max capacity of MF923).I made some minor personal choices on the new one, but I could have just plugged and played.I needed to reselect my new WIFI router choice on each user device as I kept the new visible system ID and did not use the old one, which I could have.If you want to use this for streaming remember you must be near enough to get these speeds.SD (480p): 3+ MbpsHD (720–1080p): 5–13+ Mbps4K (UHD, 2160p): 16–25 MbpsIf you want to know the speeds you will get. You can approximate 4G speeds with the 4G telephone or MF923 by looking at the cellular signal strength. My MF923 and cellphone receive -78dbm cellular signal strength inside my place and I get max 75Mbps speed early morning and it reduces during the day to 20Mbps+ I have no problem streaming.Your signal strength should stay above -100dbm to get decent speeds. Since numbers are negative, power is higher with less negative numbers. Personally I would only accept -80 to -85dbm or less negative, I have run in the -90s for office work though. And yes, Cable would be a better choice but this is all I need. And the price is right.

Great little hotspot
I have an unlimited data only plan from AT&T and after months of using my phone as a mobile hotspot, I decided I needed an actual separate hotspot device. I chose this one despite the mediocre reviews that it had. I'm glad I did, because it works perfectly for me! I received a brand new device in a sealed box (I noticed several other reviewers stating they received a used or refurbished device). It was pre-charged to 88% when I took it out of the box. I turned it on, inserted my SIM card, and I was good to go! No setup was required. My only slight quibble is that the battery life could be better, but I guess I can't complain when I have my phone hooked up to this streaming music all day. I find that I need to charge it bare minimum once a day, sometimes more. If you're out and about and don't have access to any kind of charger for over a day, you may want to invest in a power bank or something similar to ensure it can always be charged. If you have an AT&T data plan, get this hotspot! It's great.

Battery is draining super fast even if I am not using device and wifi is off!p
I bought new hotspot few weeks ago and used it only 4 or 5 times so far. It says that battery can last up to 10 hours of streaming and standby time of up to 240 hours before you need to recharge the battery which is absolutely not true! Battery is draining super fast even if device is not in use. If you don’t use it 2,3 days in a row, device will turn off itself and you will have to put it on charger because battery is at 0%. I am Only using this hotspot for my tablet and not any other device. (I could imagine what it would be like if I connect it to more than one) And every time I don’t use it, I am turning off wifi so that battery can last longer, but that doesn’t help.Usually I watch some videos that I need for work, I am checking e-mails, and so far I’ve noticed that after 3 to 4 hours max of normal usage I have to put hotspot on charger. It has good connection, but I can’t rely on battery for too long which bugs me a lot! Definitely didn’t expect this from the new device. And I don’t like to leave reviews, especially bad ones, but this time I felt like I have to do that.Sometimes I feel like they sent me the used hotspot or battery on this one was sitting for way too long… Anyway, not worth the money.

Update: Didn't Come Unlocked, but Seller sent unlock code
I was going to return this, in fact, I had started a return, but I also sent the seller an message stating it was a locked device even though it was sold as unlocked. They responded fairly quickly (few hrs) and asked for my imei and they would send me the unlock code. They responded again a few hours later with the unlock code and all is good. If you need a cheap unlocked hotspot that works decently, I would recommend this. It is not as fast as my NightHawk M1, but for it's price and functionality ratio, it is worth the buy. The seller's response bumped my rating from 1 star to 4 stars. I'm only removing a star for the item due to it's performance compared to something 5 times it's cost. I can now use this with my AT&T and T-Mobile sim cards. I'll test this with Verizon GSM Sim in a few weeks and some international sim cards at the beginning of the year. I'll try to remember to update this review as my tests continue. I would also like to state that this performs about 2.5 times better with T-Mobile in the same spot over AT&T, but it just might be the bands available in my region.Original Review:This is not unlocked as the title and description describes, which is why the 1 star. If it weren't for that deception, I would have given this 4 stars as it does not perform as well as another product, but still performs ok for the price. It works fine with my AT&T sim, but any other carrier it states sim locked. It is AT&T branded but came with a h2o wireless sim card. I got this for my other carrier, but it does not work with it. I have a nighthawk m1 for my at&t connection. For comparison, this also performs poorly compared to the m1. It is about 1/5 the speed. (22 mbps, vs > 100 mbps down, uplink about 15 mbps on both. These were sitting in the same spot.)If you need an cheap at&t hotspot and don't care about top performance, go with this.
